All Music Guide - John Bush
Jamiroquai's sophomore record had all the slinky grooves and great musicianship of the debut, but it also offered a better set of songs and more ambitious musical themes. As with Emergency on Planet Earth, Jason Kay's dead-on impression of Stevie Wonder and Sly Stone drives the group's blend of acid jazz and funky R&B. "Space Cowboy" and "Light Years" were hits all over the world, and made the band stars in Europe and Japan, while substantial clubplay earned them a degree of recognition for American audiences. But Jamiroquai refused to be known as simply a party band; the group takes on social issues such as homelessness and Native ...

This man wrote the book on jazz, rock, and dance music

I got all of Jamiroquai cd's except this one but just listening to the samples I enough to make anyone want to drop what they're doing and go out and buy this album. He reminds me of Shade except he's a male verison. But he is just as good though! Every since I got his first album, I've been hooked by his very unique style of music and his use of messages in his song. It's unique artistry like that I've listen to more artist like hime. Even before I listened to the samples, I knew Jamiroquai would have another fill good hit!

    Intergalatic Adventure

For the majority of Jamiroquai super fans "The Return Of The Space Cowboy" is J.K. and companies finest piece of work with an addicting blend of song craftsmenship which patterns itself on an organic feel that is highly influenced by the jazz-funk of the 1970's. Though there have been some complaints that Jamiroquai lacks any kind of originality and is just a 70's funk clone, those who truely have an appreciation for the jazz-funk genre instantly recognize that there is something special and unique to the Jamiroqaui sound. "The Return Of the Space Cowboy" seemed to be last stop in which Jamiroquai entertained itself with it's highly captivating organic sound which blended a variety of different intruments (many more then your usual run of the mill band) to a more pop-electronica orientated style which has helped create mass success for the band but left many of the Jamiroquai fans from the old-school scratching their head and wondering why. Needless to say "The Return Of The Space Cowboy" is a fantastic listen for anyone who wishes to get lost on a musical adventure, but watch out you just might not want to find your way back home.
