Overview

From the national bestselling author of The Departed comes an all new novel of danger, intrigue, and a love stronger than death...

AN ETERNAL DESIRE

With his strong psychic ability, FBI Agent Joss Crawford longs for the woman he loved in a past life. But after years of searching, a new case is drawing him into the last place he'd ever want to find her: an underground slave ring. Going undercover to infiltrate the network, he meets Drucella Chapman--the mastermind's fiancee. Joss has every reason to believe she's evil. So why is he irresistibly drawn to her?

A DANGEROUS GAME

Drucella has made it her personal mission to bring the slave ring down. But the sadistic ring leader is even more careful than he is cruel. In order to gain information, Dru has had to get close to the very man she wishes to kill, psychically reading his memories bit by bit. she'd do anything to finish the job, but agreeing to marry him may have been a step too far--even for her.

A FATEFUL ENCOUNTER

Though Joss and Dru are both undercover, nothing can disguise the sense of deja vu they experience when they meet. Neither can afford to be distracted from the mission at hand, but perhaps their reunion is exactly what this mission needs...

The Reunited is a mystery, thriller, suspense, and romance all in one. The FBI psychics series is a very intense, fantastic series. It is full of action and drama. Shiloh Walker does a wonderful job continuing the series with this third book. I really enjoyed this one, the characters are intriguing and the psychic element adds to the romantic suspense. I highly recommend this series.

I will say I was a little confused at the beginning. I wasn't sure exactly what was going on. Once I got into just a little bit, it got much better. It is pretty intense with the human trafficking issue going on. There are also some new characters along with some old ones coming back.

“Shiloh Walker can definitely write a good suspenseful book, and this was that!” ~Under the Covers

I first discovered this series while reading the anthology HOT IN HANDCUFFS last year and was immediately drawn to it because of the psychic/paranormal element that adds just a touch of different.

Shiloh Walker can definitely write a good suspenseful book, and this was that! With the help of some psychic abilities, this particular division of the FBI is solving impossible cases. In this case, we are dealing with human trafficking and a bad guy who has no remorse in using, selling or killing.

My favorite thing, as I often say with Shiloh’s books, was the bad guy. Another completely crazy, creep that I couldn’t wait to see brought to justice. I loved seeing different aspects of him and learning to hate him for different reasons. Sounds mean. See the heroine of this book, Dru, has been working undercover for two years to bring this guy down. To get close, she’s been posing as his girlfriend and now fiance. To see the extent of how much he was able to break her down added another level of hate for the bad guy.

The case evolution is engaging and kept me interested the whole time. However, I did have times when I lost some of my interest. And those times were the actual connection between the H/h, the romance. This didn’t start clicking in for me as far as the romance went until close to the end. And I’m not even talking about figuring out the fact that there’s a subplot of reincarnation. I actually happen to find that very intriguing and I was excited when the possibility was first mentioned in the book. It brought back memories of when I was a kid and read ONLY LOVE IS REAL by Brian Weiss and how enthralled that story had me that I finished it in almost one sitting.

In the end, this was a great story. It was creepy when it had to be, scary when it was necessary and heartbreaking at times. And at the end, there is healing.

If you have not read this series you should start right away. While this is the third book they all stand alone just fine.

Here we have another romantic suspense with paranormal elements. Both Joss and Dru have their own abilities to work with. But can they overcome attraction, mistrust and other obsticles to end up working together to achieve the same goal?

Its a fast paced ride as we watch them battle their attraction while both working undercover to take down a human trafficking ring. The characters are well developed and have their own mysteries to figure out while figuring out how to complete the case and why they have such an intense connection.

Characters from the previous two books in the series make supporting appearances. They do manage to stay as supporting characters. It is great, however, to see them again and see where they are after their stories have taken place.

I really enjoy this series and am looking forward to reading more. If you are looking for a fast paced suspense this is one you dont want to miss.

It's a really good thing that when I really started reading this

It's a really good thing that when I really started reading this book I didn't have any other plans for the day. I don't think I would have been able to set it down for very long to get anything else done. I was so excited to be given a chance to read and review a book by Shiloh Walker, and I was not disappointed at all by her work.

FBI Agent Joss Crawford goes under cover into a very dangerous situation. He has a very special talent that is needed for this case. It is a total shock to him when he comes into contact with the woman he has a deep connection with.

Drucella Chapman has gone undercover to bring down a horrible ring that is kidnapping and abusing women in the worst ways possible. She has found a way to get the attention the of the "boss" of the ring and goes through some horrible things in order to get the "goods" on these people to bring them down.  She is willing to do what ever it takes to make sure these people can not hurt anymore young ladies.

Both Joss & Drucella will do what ever it takes to end this horrible ring of terror. First they have to learn they are both on the same side and can trust each other.  I loved how they were able to communicate with each other and the special link they shared.

The suspense in The Reunited had me clinging to the edge of my seat and turning the pages as quickly as possible. I could not wait to see how Joss, his team of FBI agents, and Dru were going to give these rotten people exactly what they deserved. Shiloh Walker has created some very fascinating, intriguing characters that I was completely captivated by.

I have not had the pleasure of reading the first two books in The FBI Psychics series but I was able to keep up just fine by starting with this one. I enjoyed this book in the series so much though, I would love to read the rest of the series.

Now that I have had the chance to read Shiloh Walker's work I know I would certainly enjoy reading more.

This was a strange book for me.  I am not sure if it was because I have not read book one or two in this series.  Or maybe it was my mood.  I am not 100% sure.  But The Reunited didn’t draw me in like a normal Shiloh Walker book.  I guess I just never really connected with the characters.
Still this was an okay read and I will be putting it on my list of need to read the series from book one.
