Overview

The fifth book of the #1 New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series!

The Garde have suffered an unbearable loss. Number Five has betrayed them. Eight is gone forever. Ella has been kidnapped. The others are now scattered.

In Chicago, John makes the unlikeliest of allies: a Mogadorian named Adam, who has switched sides. Adam knows the Mogs secrets, and he knows where to hit them: their command base near Washington, DC. But during the assault, John learns he and the Garde might be too late. The Mogadorians have commenced their ultimate invasion plans.

Meanwhile, Six, Nine, and Marina make their way through the Florida Everglades, hot on the trail of the traitorous Five. With the development of a new Legacy, Marina finally has the power to fight back—if her thirst for revenge doesn't consume her first. The Garde may be broken and divided once more, but they will not be defeated. As long as one still stands, the battle for Earth's survival is not lost.

Michael Bay, director of Transformers, raved: “Number Four is a hero for this generation.” This epic young adult series is perfect for fans of action-packed science fiction like The Fifth Wave series by Rick Yancey, The Maze Runner series by James Dashner, and Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game.

The battle for Earth’s survival wages on. Read the rest of the series: #6: The Fate of Ten, and #7: United as One.

Don’t miss the first book in the brand-new I Am Number Four spin-off series: Generation One.

All of the previous Pittacus Lore books were filled with captivating action and adventure that had your eyes glued to the page from beginning to end, it is only to be expected that this next book will be even better.

I had loved all the other books but this one was writtin differenty which i had noticed in the first couple chapters. The ending was so bad i infuriated me hours after i read it.

"And that's when a rinoceros drops from the sky" that paragraph is just SO funny! Anyway, this book is sooo damn good! I mean really, with Eight and the well? So good! And I'm like, what, Sam has teklenisis? I mean best thing ever! I think I have an explanation for sam... its probably that like lorien did earth has its powers awakened and gave Sam his gifts. this may also happen to other humans in the next books. Anyway, this is a great book! (Psyched!!!!!)

Love this series & all, but for books that aren't even 250 pages (like this one), it should NOT take so long for them to come out. The author could have finished the series with this book if only it had been longer. Not looking forward to having to wait another year or so for something that can be read in a matter of hours.

I could not put the book down. I love this series and I enjoyed Adam being more involved in this novel.

When the least book came out, I gave it a less than favorable rating. I said that the series had basically lost the action and suspense that we had come to know and love. Well, I can tell you that after reading this book, the action and suspense is BACK! Amazing work. I was really blown away by the progression of the story! I can't wait to read the next one!

This is my first review Ever. This book was soo good that I got goosebumbs at the end and compelled me to write my first review. I was saddened with the outcome of Eight in the last book and was concerned with the fate of the Lorien. However im excited about the direction the author is heading. Cant wait for the next installment. I absolutely love this series.

I have to say that after reading the first book I wasn't sure. The story line was interesting but the writing seemed somewhat adolescent. Each book was better and now that I've finished this one I'm hooked! When is the next one??? I will definitely be watching for it!

This book is one of the best book series ever, rivaling harry potter, hunger games and others. No doubt Pittacus Lore is one of the best authors ever, writing with much suspense. Of course, the plot twists and character interactions keep us on our toes.

I am a fan of Pittacus Lore. The Lorien Legacies is one of my favorite stories. I will purchase any future books in this series! As always, this one is great. It holds my attention well and keeps me looking forward to what will happen next. I won't talk about the content as I don't want to spoil it for someone else. If you are a YA reader and you like adventure, fantasy and young love then this series is for you.

This book is being dragged on!! 5 novels and 9 novellas, is this really necessary?! Im so over it. The book isn't even enjoyable anymore because I am soooo frustrated with how he continues to prolong the story. I get you want to make money but damn at least make every book spectacular not just a slightly different variation of the last.

He could have finished the series with this book. Its a good read but its such a contrived and silly ending that I was convinced it was the end of a chapter, not this book. I just kept trying to flip pages certain the book couldnt end so obvious and disjointed. This is a really annoying way to spin out another year of profits while we read subsist on those dumb 70 page novellas in between book releases. Also, John is without a doubt the worst character. So sickeningly teenage and pure and stupid-decision-making for all his nauseatingly heroic intentions. The characters are beginning to read like a Nicholas Sparks-created crappy ABC family sci-fi thats on after the Secret Life of the Preggers Teenager or whatever. This is what happens when you drag a series beyond its natural conclusion: your charactets become recycled stock cliches featuring the tough but loveable sidekick, the romantic hero, the nerd who got hot at some point, the tomboy girl carrying the weight of the world and the self-sacrificing pentinent fool with a chip on his shoulder. If this drags on past one more book (a FULL book, not the dumb in-betweeners that work out to approximately $0.08/page and tell us nothing we couldn't have worked out ourselves) then I am giving up. I have the vague coclusion of the series already worked out thanks to this achingly dragged out rag. I hope I'm wrong since I really like the books (even this one until the cheesy chapters toward the end) but I'm sick of waiting for/paying for increasingly shorter e-books that are 30% excerpts from three other crappy short stories we didn't want to pay for. And before anyone accuses me of impatience, please know I have never ranted like this before even though I have read all the Song of Ice and Fire books which, while published so infrequently one begins to believe George RR Martin is actually a sadist, are nonetheless longer, better, a better value, and less predictable.

This is making the series less popular and enjoyabe. I'll have lost interest by the time I'm in college.

Wish pittacus lore would have finished the book first before he published only half. Not the best way to leave readers hanging for yet another year or so.

I never saw it coming in the previous books, but towards the end of this one i just knew! And its amazing.

All the previous Pittacus Lore books have been my favorite so far, and so far this one has not disappointed.

I enjoyed the book, but to be honest, if im going to read 10 more books of the " I AM NUMBER 4" series i might just wait and skip to the last book before read the rest

I think they should make a T.V. series to do the book justice and add on movies to the first one because it wasn't all that and how can you end a movie like there's going to be anouther then threr isn't tqlk about a let down...:(

I loved how it was told from many diffent perspectives. The plot was fast-paced and exciting. When Ella was stuck with Setrekis ra (I'm sorry about the spelling) I was scared and excited of what would happen next. Adams character was a nice adition to the group. Along with Sam and Six finally accepting their feeling for each other. Even though I thought I was done crying about Eight this book caused me to cry with Marina all over again. Five deciding to help was amazing and unexpected.Sarah going to meet with Mark was a really interesting twist. Also in this book, like all the others, Nine thinks he can solve any problem by punching something. Finally the ending. Pittucus decided to throw a huge event right at the end and then end the book. This caused me to anticipate the next book even more than i already was. Thank you so much for reading abd concidering my opinion. I'm really sorry for my awful spelling ability.
