Never mix sex and politics…
Philly-native Keisha Reynolds is a smart, spunky, sexy campaign manager who is not easily intimidated by a challenge. But even Keisha knows when she's in over her head after she agrees to help head the campaign of her old college professor Dr. Sydney Parker--a man whom she deeply respects but who is a long-shot win for the congressional seat. The intense campaign takes its toll on the inexperienced campaign manager and after a while, Keisha hopes just to make it to Election Day with her sanity and confidence intact.
Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse when she crosses paths with the competition: William Blake, the deputy campaign manager of the seemingly invincible incumbent, Congressman Vincent Dupré. She despises Will but she can't deny that she feels an overwhelming attraction toward the man, who is as good looking as he is egotistical and seemingly devious. She tries her best to deny the magnetism she feels toward him, but knows she is fighting a losing battle that could lead her to make a big mistake that will cost Parker the election. But Keisha soon discovers that it isn't only lust she has to worry about. Politics can be an ugly game and during the election, a earth-shattering secret is revealed that will shake her to her very core.

I'll give this book between 3 1/2 - 4 stars. It was a very sweet romance with a bit of politics and a few other turns. (No spoilers here.) It wasn't hot and steamy so if that's your thing this is not the book for you. It was, however, nicely written and a little emotional. I stayed up all night to finish it.
This book was a little slow for me in the begininng but it got really good and the drama in the book was on point. I was getting teary eyed at the end of the book though. Great book!!!
When I pick this book up I didn't know that I would really enjoy this book. I would have to say that I read this book so very fast that I was so very disappointed that I had finished it so very quickly. It is a story about Keisha Reynolds who took on a position of deputy campaign manager for her old professor and someone who she has a high opinion for. When she took this job she didn't think that she would feel so not qualified for helping her old professor and mentor to run for governor. But then she runs into Will Blake, who would have thought that these two people would meet on a chance encounter. But there is one problem he is working for the other opponent. How are these to people going to deal with the passion that they have for each other? Are they are willing to risk their career for the possible of falling in love? As we all know in these kinds of political races they are rarely played clean. Both sides decide that the race is too close to call, so they dig up information on the other side. They both have information that could win their opponent to be the next governor. Can these two survive the onslaught and still trust each other? For those of you who are true romance fans, I wanted you to know that there are a lot of very steamy scenes. I would have to say that this is an author that I would definitely keep an eye on. Her next book, "A Love Built to Last," is expected to be out in November 2011.
