Editorial Reviews

Betty Dravis
I'm not into erotica at all and actually despise descriptive sex in books, so let me assure you that this short story is very tastefully written and not at all offensive.
It's as the author describes: "a sensuous, paranormal short story." Author L. Reveaux is excellent at teasing the right words onto the page...words that are suggestive, highly descriptive and mood-setting. For example, she asks a provocative question on the cover: "They say it's all smoke and mirrors down on Bourbon St".

Meet the Author

You can usually find me in the South…
Most of my writing reflects this, in its style and all the nuances considered deeply southern.

I love the sound of jazz playing in the French Quarter, sweeping verandahs overlooking free flowing gardens, and the scent of gardenias on the night air.
Even though I reside elsewhere, my heart will always lie within Louisiana and its Quarter. When I wander through its streets, it is with the sense of coming home…of a whispered memory long forgotten…

There are many of these memories hidden inside the south, some blissfully exquisite, laced with soft southern laughter, others touched by decadence that slips seductively toward evil…

Both memories reside together in my stories, side by side, hand in hand. One does not stand well without the other, because the south has always done exquisiteness…and evil…so well.

L. Reveaux

P.S. I also write under Loretta Wheeler

    An elegant, sultry story....

This story is excellent. Really. Cadenced prose, smooth as silk, vibrant with imagery and sensory detail. Two things hook you from page one -- the mystery and sensuous allure of this ghost woman who walks Bourbon Street at night. Reveaux has mastered her writing craft; she doesn't lean on the flimsy crutches of graphic sex scenes or vulgar words in an attempt to arouse the reader. Using subtlety, tension, and clever word choices, she gives us all the right hints, pushing all the right buttons. And, the surprise twist at the end is well executed. You'd do well to purchase a copy of "The Rising." It's only 99 cents, yet it's worth so much more! L. Reveaux is an extremely talented author, and we can only look forward with anticipation for what she has to offer us in the future.

Sultry little paranormal - a must read!

Nothing's steamier than a Louisiana night in the French Quarter, except for Lady Ryze. When Rick decides to follow his lustful fantasy home one night, he discovers there's more to Lady Ryze than her curves. Rick's hot night starts to burn, and an unexpected memory surfaces from the hot coals. He's been here before.
