What People Are Saying

Charles Breithaupt
"The story of Coach Matt Garrett and the Nazareth Swiftettes captures the essence of high school athletics. The demands and pressures placed on coaches and their families were made real in this book. To win a state championship under the scrutiny he faced was outstanding. To receive the gift of a newborn made the victory much sweeter! Great reading for any coach, player or fan of high school basketball!"--(Charles Breithaupt, UIL Director of Athletics)
Joe Lombard
"Winning a State Championship in Texas girls' basketball is a remarkable accomplishment for any coach, but to have the birth of a first child come at the same time is truly something special. Matt Garrett's account of this journey as a new head coach and new father gives a personal remembrance of this incredible experience. One would think God had His hand in this story for it is too unbelievable to have "just happened". Reading this book is time well spent."--(Joe Lombard, Canyon High School, 14 Texas State Championships)
Rick Sherley
"This well written true story of a special season is a must read for all basketball junkies. It takes you on a journey that honors not only the players and coaches, but also, family values, community spirit and Panhandle girls basketball."--(Rick Sherley, Executive Director, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC))
Sam Tipton
"Matt Garrett took over a program rich in tradition and a trophy case full of state championships in girl's basketball. He won not one, not two, but three state championships as coach of the Nazareth Swiftettes. This book is a great tribute to him, the players, and the community."--(Sam Tipton, Executive Director, Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA))

    Great Book

Just found this one online and it is a great book. A modern day Hoosiers for girls. I would recommend this to anyone who like a good sports story.

What I liked best is that it was easy to get into but didn't take a week to ready the entire book. Well done, A+

    Road to Austin

One of the better sports books I have read lately. Someone in Hollywood needs to look into this one...this is a female Hoosier 'sort of'.

What a great story. Nazareth girls basketball is great, but this story tops it off!
