The Rocky Horror Picture Show [Music From the Original Soundtrack]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - William Ruhlmann
It took almost six years for this soundtrack of the all-time midnight movie favorite to go gold, but it is one of the most memorable film scores and show scores, for that matter of the '70s, combining old-time rock & roll with campy horror movie clichés. Tim Curry and Meat Loaf star.

    Rocky Horror Picture Show

This CD is a delight! All of the quirky, fun music is right there. The sound quality is excellent and you can sing along with your favorite pieces. Since the film is a cult favorite, this CD would probably fit that definition too. If you don't know the story, it would probably seem pretty odd.

    Nothing beats this original soundtrack

Rocky Horror Picture Show continues to thrive in local cinemas and in plays and musical adaptation all over the country, twenty years after the movie release. The orignial soundtrack with the "Time Warp" and Meatloaf's debut performance is a cult classic.
We bought this for a friend after seeing a local performance. She loved it.

    Great Musical, Fair CD

Rocky Horror is a great musical, with a variety of types of songs within it. The voices and style on the movie version are great, and it is my favorite of the different versions of this musical. However, this particular movie version is missing a couple of songs, and instead has various versions of the song, 'Time Warp'. I would recommend buying the other movie version, although it is a little bit more excpensive, it is worth the few extra dollars.

    RHPS Soundtrack is great!

This is a great cd. I recieved it for christmas '99, and the only thing I don't like is that it's missing a couple of songs. They are: Sword of Damocles (Rocky's song), Planet, Schmanet Janet, and I'm pretty sure that's all. It's missing one verse from Over at the Frankenstein Place and the song that brad sings, but those are stage verses/songs, and this is the movie's soundtrack.
