Overview

Product Description:

Barnes and Noble Top 100 Bestselling Romantic Comedy and Humorous Mystery Author D. D. Scott is back...this time, with Book 4 in her Cozy Cash Mystery Series – THE ROYAL DIGS.

What if a Drag Queen determined the United States Presidential Election?

Well...a Drag Queen with a Mob Connection. Think RuPaul as The Godfather of Wall Street.

Book Description:

For the Cozy Cash Mystery Series, many of the plot elements are factually based. That said, you’re also treated to superfab fun, quirky-crazy, D. D. Scott-style fictional twists and a zany cast of characters.

The Royal Digs asks several story questions that have huge social impacts such as:

1. What if a Drag Queen determined the United States Presidential Election?
(An exploration of alternative lifestyles)

2. Does it matter that we’ve got a Presidential Nominee who keeps a majority of his money offshore to avoid paying taxes on it?

3. Does it matter that said nominee has earned his massive wealth, thanks to the blood money of cartel kings – whether coffee, cocoa, casinos, or cocaine and other drugs too? Cartel Kings who make their living via the death squads they employ and the people whose rights they corrupt or snuff out...

Tough questions, right? With answers that have huge effects on our lives.

D. D. writes these kinds of “ripped from the headlines” stories because they engage us as human beings and instantly feed on topics that are easily recognizable and emotion-packed.

For her Cozy Cash Mysteries, she’s explored the following topics:

1. Ponzi schemes (Madoff-style) – THUG GUARD

2. Fashion sweatshops in Naples (controlled by the local mobs and making many a pages in today’s best fashion magazines and on red carpets around the world) – LIP GLOCK

3. The gem trade (as in blood diamonds and stones) – CARATS & COCONUTS

4. The money trails of U.S. Presidential Nominees – THE ROYAL DIGS

5. The real owners of Wall Street...The Cartels – coffee, cocoa, casino cocaine and other drugs too – THE ROYAL DIGS

6. Banking, hedge funds and derivative trading – THE ROYAL DIGS

Nothing gets to the truth faster than following the money trail.

Bonus Content Included:

D. D. also treats you to a Sneak Peek at her soon-to-be-released Christmas book – THE BILLIONAIRES’ CHRISTMAS CLUB - co-authored with Bestselling Amazon Author Theresa Ragan.

    Disappointed

Until Royal Digs, I was really enjoying D. D. Scott's Cosy Mysteries. They have been fun, yet action packed. Unfortunately, Royal Digs became less about the continuation of her series, and more an opportunity for D. D. Scott to commenton today's Presidential Race. I don't feel that I need to agree with an author's political views to enjoy their stories, in this case, her political views became the story. I do not agree with the author's political ideas, but I applaud her for taking a stand for what she believes in. I just wish she had chosen a different venue to take that stand. I would have liked to finish the story, but D. D. Scott was so obvious with her political parallels that I was unable to move beyond her overt message and just enjoy rhe story. She put me in the posistion of feeling as though to continue reading, would be to show that I agreed with her, and I very definately do not agree.
The other reason I have for my rating is D. D. Scott's use of the first person for multiple characters. I usually enjoy the first person narative, but trying to keep track of which character was talking was very distracting. It made it difficult to lose myself in the story.
I have been looking forward to reading this story, and have been excited to know that there were more coming, but I will not be continuing the series. I too feel as though I must stand for what I believe. Since D. D. Scott so obviously drew a line in the sand, I will respond my not crossing that line.

Should have read the reviews first

Like others, I was a fan of this series and had read every book. I am highly disappointed D.D. Scott used this book as a political diatribe. I couldn't get beyond page 45 before I became so frustrated I sent the book to the cloud. I regret purchasing Hullabaloo and Holly too as I won't be reading it either. D.D. Scott has just lost a reader. Authors need to remember that although they are entitled to their opinions, when reading fiction we readers are looking for an escape from the monotny of day to day life. If you want to espouse your political points of view write a narrative on your point(s) of view. Keep it out of your fiction series.
