Overview

Everyone on planet earth seeks “connection”. I was surprised to look in the index of my husband’s bible and “not to find the word connection.” Connection is everything to me. It is the soul purpose of my existence as a human being to be loved, understood and accepted by other human beings. The Rules For Being You are simple: Celebrate Your Life!
I have had a particularly difficult time learning to “surrender to God’s will” lately. I keep on thinking I know better than God. No, I am simply a fallible human being who spends much too much time worrying, blaming and processing. I hope that The Rules For Being You will help you to make a connection with your higher power and to remember that no matter how difficult life is, God gives us the strength to endure all trials and tribulations. The trials in my life are out of the ordinary, extraordinary and unusual. Inside The Rules For Being You, you will find worksheets, The Rules For Being Human, and wonderful quotes of inspiration.
It would appear God willed me the gift of communication and that regardless of if the world finds my words helpful, I must share. In the second epistle of Peter, section 21 reads “…for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
When the Holy Spirit dwells inside you and within you, powerful things take place. Hearts desires materialize, connections abound, love flourishes, the Holy Spirit directs your path. There are many paths to happiness, sometimes God gives us enough time to smell the roses, and that is the gift, sometimes he gives us a “bag of money”, sometimes a sunset, sometimes a rainbow. But if you are lucky, as I see it from my life, God puts you on a scavenger hunt of wonder and amazement. Some things are nearly impossible to put into words unless God-aka the Holy Spirit puts you on one.
Sometimes in life when we realize we have tried really hard to manage life, instead of live it, God provides incentives to make us realize that whatever trials and tribulations we have in life, that God always answers the phone. Humanity may and will resist the truth, because it is easier to deny the truth than to dwell in the Holy Spirit, because we as humans we want to rationalize and explain why things happen. Everything happens for a reason, if we love and are truthful, everything will be better than ok, it will be spectacular.
We live on planet earth with a few universal truths. A universal truth is an unalterable and permanent fact. It means that something is true, no matter who you are or who says it, you will always get the same answer. A universal truth is as humans we need oxygen to survive. Another universal truth is as the human species, we are all dealing with a finite set of time and that are days are numbered. Another absolute truth is if you add one to one you will always get 2 as your answer. I also believe there are other universal truths that are more intangible in nature. I believe that if you focus your energies on unfairness, you will get unfairness, if you visualize your life in abundance, you will reap a harvest, and if you uplift your spirit, you will always be content. There are also absolute truths and this is where much of people’s energies and belief systems lie. It is the perception of the world, what we see, what we believe, and really to some extent who we are. Because absolute truths make up who we are, it becomes our moral compass. Some people see a plastic green palm tree as beautiful. Some people think it is tacky looking since it is made of synthetic fibers. Some people never notice it is a plastic tree and simply see it is as an evergreen. There are so many colors to the rainbow and types of fabric in the world. In a way, the absolute truth is the fabric of our lives. It is up to us to stitch and sew, add pieces (experiences) and to create a sort of quilt of our quintessential qualities, perceptions, beliefs, morals, and attitudes.
The Rules For Being You is like my life, a work in progress. The tips and the sections in the book are meant to bring peace, joy, and a fulfilling life. Though none of us know how long we have to live, the purpose and intention in The Rules For Being You is to enjoy the life that God has given us.
Like what Napoleon Hill says in his best selling book, Think And Grow Rich, your mind has the capacity to reach anything you set out to do. But, you have to be ready to hear it. People come into our lives for a reason. Mainly to teach us lessons. When a person has a good intention to bring about a positive change in your life, you have willed this person to cross your path. When you open your heart, mind, body and spirit, and are ready to hear what you need to hear in order to succeed with whatever goals you have in life, you have the ability to succeed.
