"I haven’t read a book as good as yours since, “The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino, which I had the pleasure of meeting and having a private dinner with one night in the early 1990’s." Matthew D. Dovel, author "My Last Breath".

There is a lack of good books for men wishing to become truly good men, just as there is a lack of supportive groups of men that can help mentor boys and men into being happy, fulfilled people. The book "The Sacred Path; The Way of the Spiritual Warrior" by Dr, Stephen J. Johnson corrects this lack. Personally, as a woman, I have seen the worst and the best in men through my husband, and see by reading Dr Stephen Johnson's book "The Sacred Path" that this is not unique to this one man of mine but is indeed universal to all men who strive to be emotionally and spiritually grounded and healthy. Dr. Johnson's book takes the reader, whether man or woman, on a journey of discovery into the male psyche and the beautiful steps vital to healing the wounded masculinity so prevalent in our society. Much of what I learned here was how there is an essential need for men to receive support from other men, heal their relationships with their fathers (thus filling the "father gap"), and build a strong self worth that is beyond their "net worth." This should be recommended, no, required reading for everyone! Ginger C. Metraux, Ph.D., author of the forthcoming book "HoneyMoon Love Forever"

Don't buy the Nook version of this book. There is a problem with the settings and you cannot adjust the size of the type. I love the new ebook technology but don't like having to use a magnifying glass to read my book. They won't give me a refund and say the publisher has to correct the problem.

I love this book! You’ll wish you had a dad like Stephen Johnson. You’ll be enlightened, inspired, and renewed. In The Way of the Spiritual Warrior, like a wise elder at a ceremonial fire, he shares four decades of experience in helping men find the core of their manhood. Healing and uplifting, he takes us into the fire in our souls that burns rich with camaraderie, brotherhood, the father-son relationship and all things male and brings us to see that the good life – no, the great life – lies in the direction of bettering that powerful man within us and the world around us. We live in a world where many men are confused about what it means to be a man. Stephen Johnson isn’t. He fully grasps the role of men in the world and in the lives of their family and children and lays out a logical path of improvement for all to follow. In this warm and immensely readable book, he opens his lifetime of wisdom, like a tribal father, pointing out commonsense principles and time-tested roads to betterment that will give any man a sound foundation for life that will fulfill his masculine destiny and make him proud. A must-read for all men and male youth. Dan Stradford, author of The Men’s Code of Honor: 66 Principles That Make a Man

"The Sacred Path: the Way of the Spiritual Warrior" is not an ordinary book, nor is Stephen Johnson just another self-help author. Dr. Johnson is a throwback to a former and wiser era; one in which young men would gather at the feet of a tribal elder or a “sage uncle” in an extended family. There they would learn of the pitfalls and challenges awaiting them in life and how best to cope with them. In today’s tension-filled and youth-worshiping society, such men and their knowledge are extremely rare, and therefore when one does arise, he should be heeded and his writings widely disseminated. Dr. Johnson speaks from both his experience as a men’s therapist and from his all-too-human and vulnerable heart. Just as the “sage uncle” would share his own deeply moving and revelatory life experiences, so Stephen opens himself to the readers with insights from every age of his life and those of other exemplary men: the father gap, the search for love, relationships with other men and women, dealing with failure, child-rearing, mentoring, developing an honorable code of ethics, coping with the deaths of one’s parents, and preparation for one’s own dying process. The wisdom contained in this book is ageless, and there is a message to men no matter where they are on their life paths. I am now in my 71st year, and Dr. Johnson’s knowledge continuously helps me to see myself more clearly, to like what I see, and to have more control over my emotional and spiritual growth. He has enabled me to access my own father/mentor energy, and at present, to learn more about aging and preparing myself for the dying process. In short, the material in his book enabled me to grow from a child into a man. No matter if you are male or female, young or aging, a first-time searcher for knowledge and peace of mind, or a long-time follower of the Sacred Path, there are myriad chapters in this book with which you will resonate, and to which you will return again and again.
