    Energy Medicine ¿ Ph.D.¿s Perspective

A devote of Baba Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, Swami Kripananda writes an a concise account of the nature of the energy called kundalini, explains it¿s origin, meaning, significance and power to purify the chackras and the subtle energy body and corresponding physical body of the seeker in which the once dormant kundalini energy has been awakened. She details the descent of the Supreme (Shakti) into matter through the sahasrara, the crown chackra, through the sushumna nadi, ¿the central channel extending from the base of the spine through the crown of the head.¿ Drawing on her vast knowledge of many of the sacred texts of the Eastern spiritual traditions of Hinduism and Kashmir Shaivism, she details the impact of the awakening of this Divine energy of Kundalini in a seeker, sharing personal stories as well as stories from sacred scriptures as to the nature of Maha Kundalini and the journey of purification and realization.

Kundalini for beginners and intermediate students alike

Swami Kripananda, a devotee of Swami Muktananda, and a master in his own right, is a skillful author. His approach is to share everything, keeping nothing back in the same manner as Baba Muktananda. This makes for very enlightening reading. Information about kundalini, a secret hidden for ages, is available today in a deluge of printed materials. What to read? Which to buy? This book gives a lot of information for the novice in an easy to understand format. It also includes some tips for intermediate kundalini yoga practitioners. It is a valued part of my library which has an outstanding collection of books on this genre.
