Overview

Jolie, an accused young wife, faces public humiliation and punishment at the whipping post for the crime of adultery. To work off her remaining sentence, she's given to the ruthless Sir Roger as an indentured servant, only to discover the many horrors she must endure at the hands of this savage master.

Divorced by her husband, sold for profit by her masters, she is finally kidnapped by a dark-skinned pirate. Though he says he wants her for his lover, he seems only interested in her complete submission. To encourage her surrender, she is stripped and flogged while tied to a ship's mast, then locked in a tower for the ultimate in sexual punishment.

If you like violent, sexually degrading, and misogynistic writing then this book is for you. The author never creates a congruent plot line, just skips from one sexually degrading experience to another. The author also wrote into the main character's inner dialog that the violence was sexually satisfying and that she wanted more. The main character seemed to feed off her abusers' violent behavior. I understand that submission and domination are relevant topics within erotica. I have however, never seen an author take those topics to such a disgusting extreme. The whole point of domination and submission is based on trust. The main character just exists in fear, then eventually is brainwashed into thinking that beatings, anal rape, anal penetration with objects, and multiple simultaneous sexual partners are the norm. I believe that this goes directly against the domination and submission philosophy. Not only was the book violent, the grammar was terrible. Run on sentences, tense interruptions, and misspelled words were just another nail in this book's coffin. Obviously this book was never edited, and I'm surprised it made it into the general market. I can't believe I actually PAID for this book. A first grader could have written better fiction. If I was the publishing company I'd discontinue printing this book and/or make it unavailable for digital download. I'd also cancel my contract with the author and make them go back to Creative Writing 101 as they have no real talent for writing any kind of literature.
