Overview

From his pulp-fiction origins in Weird Tales to his latest Dark Horse incarnation, Robert E. Howard's sixteenth-century Puritan adventurer has captured the imaginations of readers for decades. Now all of the Savage Sword of Conan short stories from the 1970s are collected for the first time: equal parts comics adaptations of Howard's formative tales and inspired new chapters from venerable scribes Roy Thomas (Conan the Barbarian) and Don Glut (Kull the Destroyer)! Follow along Kane's restless travels with pistol and rapier as he is compelled to be a weapon of God, ridding the world of evil wherever it may be found — from the jungles of Africa to the high seas, and whether cannibal, demon, vampire, or pirate!

This is the best story telling and artwork ever! Anytime Roy Thomas and Big John Buscema are in tandem expect and receive the best stories and art ever! Solomon Kane is one of Robert E. Howard's (REH)creations. REH is also the creator of Conan, Bran Mak Morn, Red Sonja, and many other fictional but real life characters. REH was and is still the best author and poet of all time! So in the tradition of REH Dark Horse has given us readers and fans of REH more printed works that is much appreciated. If you've haven't read a REH story or a Dark Horse comic on REH characters now is the time to pick this book up for a real treat! You'll be glad you did. A REH and Dark Horse fan forever!!

I have been a Robert E Howard fan for about 50 years. I was seeking some stories that I had not read in the past. The book was good; however, I was not seeking a large comic book. The plots were Howard, but the drawings were Disney. I will not order any more books unless I have prior knowledge.
