The sagas relating to Ragnar and his sons may be some of the most influential stories you have not read yet. They are full of adventure and the warrior spirit. Modern translations of these tales in readable English are hard to come by, so it is great to have a collection of these texts provided in a single volume. Skaldric poetry is particularly difficult to translate, so it is a real treat that Ragnar's death song is included here. Waggoner provide an extensive bibliography for those who wish to make a deeper study of this pleasurable read.
