It is not even a book, it is only a few case notes for the book. What a waste of time. IF there is a book done from this it would probably be good, as I have read numerous other books by this author. But as for this particular ebook - I am deeply disappointed.

Always enjoy reading about the series characters. But even for a short story, this seemed underdeveloped.

While it was a bit tough to read as it's in one and two sentence paragraphs, I reminded myself that it's written in journal style and it's the diary of Fallon Jones; short, abrupt, and to the point. The story itself is basic, about a case that happened just before "In Too Deep". I'm hoping the short story case files will become a regular thing(and stay either free or very, very cheap), and maybe go back and review cases from past J & J cases from past, present day, and future that aren't included in the novels. I was most appreciative that there was a teaser of the upcoming "Copper Beach" that I'm excited to read.

The writing style is like a list made in a notebook. It does not engage me as a reader. The plot also did not engage me and I found myself flipping pages to see if there's any point to the story rather than doing a proper read-through.
I felt like I wasted my time trying to find something redeming in the "story".

It is suggested that the author keep trying. End of story.

Anything written by Jayne Ann Krentz is well worth reading. This is not as good as her novels, but still good.

Couldn't even get into the story and then noticed it ends within 70 pages. Didn't even bother to read it.

I got it because I'm a big fan of hers. It rounds out her Arcane Society stories, but isn't a necessary one for understanding.
