Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sarah Raymond
Friday the cat is afraid of everything. One day he finds himself confronted with a new bed near his own which causes him to run and hide. He continues to notice various items that cause fear in his poor little cat soul. Each item leads up to and foreshadows a new pet in the house, but Friday does not see this. He thinks a monster has come and he is petrified. When Friday finally gets the courage to come out and see the new cat that is not afraid of anything, he realizes he had nothing to be afraid of all along. The new cat, Angela, is not a monster but a new sister and a new friend. This is a great story for young children that might be afraid of new situations or experiences. Through Friday’s struggles they can learn that what appears to be scary at first might not be so scary if given a chance. Reviewer: Sarah Raymond; Ages 4 to 8.
