Editorial Reviews

Booknews
Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss), the author who revolutionized children's books, painted late at night for fun. This collection of his paintings, with a personal note by his wife and a brief introduction by Maurice Sendak, reveals some facets of his artistry unseen in his books, although the signature zany characters still figure prominently. A Keeper!

I originally found this book while browsing at a local indie bookshop several years ago. I snatched it up immediately and am so glad I did. It offers a unique and different perspective on the beloved children's author and artist. And the illustrations are gorgeous in vivid colors. When one of my goddaughters came to visit, she was taken with it as well...so much so, that I ordered one from B&N for her birthday recently and she was thrilled. Please note that is not a children's book per se; my niece is 17 and interested in art so it was a perfect gift.

    Powerful and Wonderful

This was a wonderful tribute to the man behind the cat. I was deeply impressed by Theodore Geisel's personal works, and by the quality of the book...Excellent!
