Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
Little Chick is awake while her family sleeps. She goes to the river, hops in a boat, and tries to sleep. But the wind and waves keep her awake. The moon takes her to Monkey Island. Monkey and Little Chick race to and fro. Soon Monkey is asleep. They sail to the Island of Fire and meet a baby dragon, who is afraid of monsters. Little Chick sings a lullaby and puts Dragon to sleep. The animals sail to the Land of Icicles. Dragon puffs warm air around Little Chick which makes Little Chick sleepy. They sail to Mighty Island that has a herd of noisy elephants. A little elephant cannot sleep because of the noise. They all sail back to Little Chick's home. Now Little Chick can sleep. "For at last she'd found all the secrets of sleep. You need to be: tired, safe, cozy, and quiet." Children will enjoy the bright pictures of friendly animals. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman
