The Secret Ship, an engaging novel by Ruth Klugger and Peggy Mann, tells a fascinating and true story abot a girl's attempt to free the Jews from the Holocaust by a secret ship called the Hilda. The Secret Ship recounts Ruth's struggles and survivals on saving thousands of men, children, and women from Adolf Hitler. The Secret Ship is both uplifting and dejecting at times. The book is extremely informative and allows you to develope clear picture of how the Jews were treated at the time. The story begins when young Ruth Klugger was chosen to be in one of the most secret, illgal groups named the Mossad. She is put incharge of the Hilda and is ordered to take it to Palestine where the Jews can be free. Exciting details and life threatening struggles are brought to Ruth's attention and it is truly amazing and heroic of how she handles them. The Secret Ship is a shinning example heroism and perserverance. Although the story will literally bring you to tears, it is a magnificent informational story that will help to make you understand how the Jews were treated in the Holocaust and the many obsticles that people had to go through to help gain freedom. Was this review helpful?
