Meet the Author

William 'Pila' Chiles is a decorated Vietnam veteran with the Marine Corps-elite Reconnaissance Unit and survivor of a top secret experimental program in guerilla warfare. During a near-death combat experience, he had a vision of the future that led to his home in Hawaii. Today he is known for his psychic insights as a teacher of the ancient Hawaiian Huna wisdom. He is a NLP Trainer, "Essence Master," and ordained minister. Known as the "Pied Piper of Paradise," Pila has captivated audiences internationally with his mystical musical journeys of the mind and the electric response to his authentic Hawaiian chanting. He has taken the chant to the United Nations, New York City, and Vienna and was the only haole (non-blood Hawaiian) to perform an official Hawaiian Blessing for the opening of a state institution. Pila was also honored as a guest speaker on both interisland cruise ships for the week long "Year of the Hawaiian" international celebration.

One of the best books I've ever read

I have owned this book for seven years and still refer to it often. It has opened many doors for me and and really helped me thru my healing process. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in studying about Hawiian culture & history.Or for someone who just wants to work thru their healing process. I would also recommend his CD's.

A friend lent me this book many months back, but I never had the time to read it; that is until I actually made to to the Big Island and found myself with a good dose of leisure time. The instant I started it, I could not stop. Any chance I get I was reading as fast as I could, including the whole plane ride home.

Pila's accounts and understandings about the unseen depths of human energies and the power that is held within and upon this Earth are incomparable. I found myself aligning perfectly with many of his accounts based on personal understandings I've discovered. So, I can say he is not alone. When this book was written over 18 years ago, I don't believe the human race was ready to fully grasp this power that is upon us, but with the changes that have happened in the past nearly 2 decades and all that is still about to unfold, this book is almost an essential guide to understanding yourself and the world around you. It's like a real-life Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe.

If you keep an open mind, a broad field of vision, and let go of all your limiting beliefs about reality for a moment, I guarantee you will see the essential information printed in black and white on every single page of this magnificent book.

    Mahalo Nui Loa, Pila!

    Must read for Big Island

This is truly a must read, especially if you visit or live on the islands! It captures so much of what is going on in the world today, and allows one to really contemplate the wonders of this universe and the space that we all share.

This book has a way of coming into someone's consciousness at the perfect moment in time, and owning one copy is not enough when you want to share this book with others in your life. I know that this book called me at the right time, and that it has certainly opened up the beauty and sacredness of the island I call home.... HAWAII!

    Mahalo nui loa, Pila!

    Love, light and aloha....

    Inspirational

I'm on my second read of this book. I use it to start my day with an inspiring message. The author is very candid and does not set himself up as the authority, but describes what he has learned from his experiences.

It's well written and leaves you wanting more.

A bridge to our mystical brothers

This book is fabulous. it is one of a very few in my library that I re-read every year... always finding more gems and fasinating insights into the metaphysical side of our Hawaiian brothers. I strongly recommend it as a powerful read for anyone pondering the deeper meaning of life and reasons for our existance.

A Must Buy for the Journey

As the author generously shares the agony of his souls journey, he teaches us not only about the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands, the locations of the sacred sites where his healing began, but also of her people and the ancient wisdom of the Huna that is as relevant today as it was thousands of years before the first white man left his imprint upon her shores. You don¿t need to travel there to experience it all, but you¿ll want to. Pila provides the tools, the knowledge, and a map each of us can read to find our own pathway and to ¿connect to the real magic in life.¿ A must read for anyone seeking to find joy in every moment of their life. Worth reading and rereading!

A variety of thought-provoking views emerge from this well-written (at times, even lyrical) book. The author lightly weaves his own life story and journey of awakening into the mystical ingredients of the Hawaiian Islands. He then correlates the order of the location of the islands with our own human energy votices, an intriguing perspective. He also connects these spiritual aspects with other places on the planets and presents some attractive techniques for accelerating each person's own journey of awakening. One of my favorite suggestions was to associate the 'cleaning up' of one's life with the actual ritual daily used to clean up our physical environment--really a neat idea. It seems to work!

    Life Changing Read

This book jumped off the shelf at me the first weeek I arrived in Hawaii. It was as if my life were written in its pages. I think it has an ability to reach every person that reads it in a different way but the result is the same, you want to live the true life you were meant to. It gives you the courage to move forward, be it to Hawaii or somewhere else. I can't wait to explore the many places he mentions in the book. Let the adventure of life begin.

    This Book is a Gem

So many wonderful reviews about this remarkable book in regards to its magic, depth and humor have already been written. I can agree with every single word, any reviewer has stated, completely. Thus I would like to point out another special passage of this guidebook which turned out to be a very touching message for my personal life. The ¿Call to the Soul¿ stepped into my world coincidentally before I went to Kaua¿i, Hawaii, in order to meet Goddess Pele. Amongst so many lines full of marvellous depth there were also these two sentences, since then decorating the wall of my apartment, saying: ¿And all along the way of life there were only the three things that counted. Something to do, something to look forward to, and the third one, that blessing, if it ever happens¿ someone to share it with.¿ Each soul has its own yearning, every person is seeking individual truth. Many magic things happened since I read this book. And they led me eventually to the ¿Akashic Life Path Readings¿ which definitely saved and changed my own life! I will reread this book and return to Hawaii soon¿

This book stirred me to my depths!

This guidebook stirred me to my depths, confirmed my feelings and intuitions about not only this precious and soul-quickening spot on the earth -Hawaii- but the actual state of mind/heart/being known as ALOHA. Paradise is truly a state of grace, a higher calling of the soul and Pila blesses us with his personal experiences of this grace in his book. Challenging to find elsewhere, he gives us information directly, and with a pure-hearted spirit. This is a guide to the change of heart necessary to Live Aloha. It is also a guide to a sacred island that, when you take a journey to her shores, will change you profoundly, opening your heart even more widely and will unmistakably connect you to your soul.

The best book on the 'real' Hawaii I've ever read!

This is a book to savor and let the information and feeling of real 'aloha' sink in. After living in Hawaii for seven years this is the first book I've come across that catches the the magical, mystical essence of Hawaii accurately, and in true island style - with a balance of respect and humor. Pila has his information down through study, homage to his teachers and direct experience. This is a book about much more than Hawaii for those that have eyes to see and perception to perceive beyond the words. Pila brings the hidden stories of creation - ancient Hawaiian style - out for us to experience. Much of what he's talking about goes far beyond any particular race or place. I have given this book as a gift and encouraged others to buy it, (I manage a bookstore). I've received wonderful feedback on same. It's deep, fun and interesting to read, the type of book one doesn't want to end. This book is a blessing that can and should be read and experienced on many levels. Aloha and blessings to you, Pila, for your gifts of Aloha and more.

    Sensational, Mystical!

If your soul has ever had a yearning, this book will answer why! Now I know why the heart longs for paradise. This book is incredible and I recommend it, not only for the vacationer, the person who wants to know more about Hawaii, its mystique and ancient wisdom, but for the spiritual seeker as well. It is truly a threshold book of the soul and a new dimension of understanding for the word paradise. I highly recommend it to all. Dr. L. E. Buchannon
