Overview

The City of the Silent Rain is a place where it can rain endlessly. Some say that the city has stood for ten thousand years; others say that it has been there for twenty thousand years but all agree that the city is incredibly old. The Great Library towers over every building in the city and is said to date from the city’s founding. There is a legend that the men who inhabited the city once offended the Gods and that for four thousand years the power to speak was taken from them.

The Elder Gentleman watches over the city. Nobody knows how old he is and most of the inhabitants of the city don’t even know he exists. The Elder Gentleman looks after the balance in the city; if there are too many vampires and demons in the city he reins them in, if science goes too far he pulls it back and the vampires and demons feed on the scientists. There are huge drains in the city; nobody knows who built the city and nobody knows where all the water flows. The Elder Gentleman knows but he’s not telling. Right now there’s an imbalance in the city revolving around a vampire in high heels. If the vampire isn’t careful she may lose her head but if that happens then things could really get out of balance and the Elder Gentleman looks on with growing unease.
