The drive from Houston to Phoenix was supposed to take about nineteen hours, and Lindsey could see the handwriting on the wall before she even boarded the RV.

Only six of them were going, and she knew the other five well enough to predict their immediate future. The next nineteen hours would feature a running argument between her friends Ed and Lin that ranged from tabletop gaming rules to the best algorithms for parallel data compilation. She would be willing to bet money on it. There would also be, almost certainly, an in-depth geekout over the latest developments in bioinformatics, and Cami seemed able to talk endlessly about the technical intricacies of decrypting rodent genomes.

At some point Ed would jump ship from the data compilation discussion to join the bioinformatics talk. Lin, who hated to miss out on anything Ed was doing, would try to horn in on that conversation but become frustrated when he exhausted his limited knowledge of the narrow intersection between computing and rat DNA. Then he'd get whiny and start making snippy comments.

Cami's boyfriend, Ivan, who was driving, would naturally obsess over the rules of the road. He'd probably conduct periodic checks to make sure they all had their seat belts securely fastened. Lindsey knew he'd mapped out each fuel stop and every possible contingency with all the precision and attention to detail he applied to one of his astrophysics projects.

And Ben would spend the whole time glaring at Lindsey whenever she wasn't looking, and pretending to ignore her whenever she was. He'd probably glare at Ivan then, although Ivan would be oblivious to it. Just as Ivan had always been oblivious to Lindsey, despite Ben's repeated snarking about how well they seemed to get along.

But she'd purchased the ticket to BeastCon months earlier, when things were still new and wonderful with Ben, and damned if she'd let the fact that they'd since broken up ruin her well-earned vacation trip. If it ruined his, that was his problem.

"This is light. Is there another one with your costumes or something?" Ed hoisted Lindsey's wheeled bag easily, sliding it into the cargo compartment with one firm shove.

"Nope. That's the whole shebang. Costumes and everything. They just don't weigh that much."

A lightbulb seemed to go on over Ed's head—Lindsey could almost see the lewd thoughts forming beneath his rumpled curls. Lightweight costumes are skimpy costumes. Then those big puppy-dog eyes slid down her body, assessing her far too openly.

"Guh. Do I even wanna know?"

"One's a steampunk fairy sorta thing, but there isn't much to it yet. Mostly my old steampunk outfit plus wings. I might not end up wearing it. One's my Slave Leia costume from last year, we're doing a Slave Leia meet-up on Friday morning. And then, um..."

Ben brushed between them, and Lindsey had to take a step back for him to wrestle his suitcase into the hold.

"Excuse me," he said, a fraction too late for courtesy.

"The third one," she went on, irritation lending her confidence, "is Sub Red from Balls 'n' Chain. Her dungeon getup."

It was the hottest new graphic novel series on the market—graphic being the operative word—and as soon as Lindsey had read the first issue she'd known what she would be wearing for the parade and main costume contest at the next BeastCon.

I was so disapponted in this book. Which made me sad because I loved the first one with Ivan and Camilla. And I loved seeing them again in this book! I wish it was more of them and a bit less of the main charachters. That's awful isn't it? Lindsey and Ben were likeable but not as interesting and funny and quirky as I wanted them to be. Lindsey acts out her fantasy to be her favorite comic book charachter at the convention in a way that had me scratching my head and thinking, would ANYONE in real life act in this way? Really.......anyone?? And poor Ben seems desperate to please her. Even if that means changing who he is. My two stars are for Ivan! (He rocks my socks!)

Reviewed by Crystal Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Lindsay has been wanting to know more about BDSM and wants her boyfriend Ben to try things out with her. Ben blows up when she brings it up. So the next thing you know, Ben is gone and left Lindsay to herself. They meet again on the way to a Con Convention. So two women and four men travel in a RV. To say this is a little nerdy is putting it mildly. Lindsay knows that her friends are into the BDSM and she is drawn to it and to them. Ben has always been jealous of any man giving Lindsay any attention and that is one of the excuses that he used with her. When I read this book I thought that going to a convention sounded really fun and something I would love to see. I’m not a nerd and don’t know some of the words they used, so I was a little out of my depth in that part of the story. I enjoyed how the author led us into the start of the BDSM with Lindsay and Ben. Lindsay really couldn’t make up her mind what she wanted and that was something I didn’t like. Why would you want to do something like this and not go through it all the way? She confused me and I know that she confused Ben. I enjoyed the pink store that Ben had to go into. It made me laugh and to think some little old lady knew more about things then I even want to think about her knowing. The author showed the characters flaws and showed me that everyone is always scared when they go into the unknown. Even when they put up the act of being in charge. I loved seeing characters like that. Just to know that in a relationship of any kind you have to take it slow and a little at a time and do some experimenting. So I am left with wanting to find out more. It also showed me that just what a person looks like on the outside doesn’t mean that, that is the person you will get. Everyone puts on an act. I would have like to have seen the costumes for myself even though the author did a wonderful job describing them. I recommend this book to anyone who wants something a little different. It has hot sex and anal play so I have warned you.

~Reviewed by ANN & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog The chemistry is there, but not as strong as I would hope for in a Dom/sub relationship. ~ Under the Covers In the second book of the Science of Temptation series, THE SEDUCTION HYPOTHESIS, Dryden pairs together wildlife biologist Lindsey and Ben. Lindsey enjoys reading a comic that is more graphic and deals with BDSM. She gets turned on by it and when she decides to attend a fan convention and dress up as one of the characters, Ben begins to see her in a different light. As a couple, they had it good, but it could have been better and that is explored more fully in this book. While I liked both characters, I don’t think I really connected with them. There wasn’t anything that really resonated with me and I wonder if that’s just the characters or the writing. I liked it, but it’s not necessarily my favorite BDSM read. The chemistry is there, but not as strong as I would hope for in a Dom/sub relationship. I enjoyed seeing Ivan and Camilla again in this book and seeing updates on how they are doing. If you like the idea of nerds and BDSM together, then this could be something for you. Unfortunately for me, I think the idea of it seems more compelling than what I’ve seen so far in the series. *ARC provided by Netgalley

The first book in this series The Theory of Attraction, is one of my favorite books. While this is a cute follow up, it didn't draw me in as much as Ivan and Cami's story. While it's sweet to see Ben and Lindsey discover what they want in BDSM together, I found it broke whatever tension was building when they would stop in the middle and just giggle at each other. Still, it's worth a read as both are likeable and charming characters. It's also nice to see Ivan and Cami again.

This story is funny, quirky, sexy and an outright blast. In The Seduction Hypothesis Lindsey and Ben are headed to BeastCon with their friends and it is a bit awkward as they are no longer a couple.  Lindsey still lusts after Ben but if he wants her back he is going to have to work for it.  He wants her but before he can figure out how to get her back he has to figure out why they broke up in the first place.  With the help of some old friends (Cami & Ivan from The Theory of Attraction) and new, some role playing, and some honest communication Ben gets Lindsey to give him a chance at the convention but is this a hook up or a new beginning? Nobody writes Geek Love like Delphine Dryden.  A little kink, some romance and a whole lot of geeky goodness I loved this book!  This story is funny, quirky, sexy and an outright blast.
