Overview

Tuath Stories remembered the fates of the Wishers well.
Thousands of years ago, the sovereigns of the Fae lands issued a decree: The Wishers would die. Powerful magics were called forth, and in an act never before or since accomplished, both light and dark, both Seelie and Unseelie gathered together in their courts and combined their powers. The Wishers were annihilated.
However... legends told how the strongest and most fortunate few managed to escape and hide themselves amongst humans in the mortal realm.
But thousands of years passed with no sign of these legendary Wishers.
They were declared extinct.
And in its rareness, in its extinctness, the lost, most powerful class of the fae, in fact became sacred.

There are a lot of things Selene Trystaine would change about the world if she could. Injustices press in, apathy reigns, and unkindness seems to have taken hold in the crevices of humanity. So when she learns that she is not who she has always believed herself to be and destiny presents her with her birthright, she must battle with her inner demons, even while the handsome and powerful king of those who’d once attempted to destroy her kind discovers her – and begins an all-out attack of seduction on her senses.

No one knows Avery’s true name. He’s the king of the Seelie Fae, a powerful and ancient man who has ruled a beautiful and dangerous world in solitude for longer than human history has been recorded. And he has no reason to believe this solitude will ever change…. Until the other sovereigns of the thirteen kingdoms begin finding their queens one after another. And suddenly, on a hot Spring day, Selene Trystaine appears beside the river Thames like a mirage made real.

A fiery soul, a gift of untold magic, and a Changeling without a clue as to who she is are about to turn the supernatural world upside down. But as a new and terrible war is sparked between good and evil, and the losses become insurmountable, Selene and Avery are going to learn that no matter who or what you are… you must be careful what you wish for.

    Another Sucess

I couldn't stop reading until the end. Truely breath taking and utterly heart wretching. To fall in love with the next King and Queen but cry and rage to the fate of our other beloved character. Thankfully Heather once again truely makes the world right itself even though it takes strength, determination, love and a little magic thrown into the mix. Waiting with bated breath for the Underlie King. Than you again Heather for a world of characters that are so real and easily loved.

Heather, Heather, Heather. I wish I could lock you up in a room

Heather, Heather, Heather. I wish I could lock you up in a room and make you finish this entire series. I can't get enough of it! OMG. It was wonderful. The Seelie King picks up right where the Goblin King ended. The development of the story lines continue to unravel. The Seelie King and his queen are truly spectacular. I love how Heather manages to tell their story, while still keeping the bigger plot going. There is so much going on; yet it flows fluidly. Although I don't understand the need to have some of the death's that occur, no doubt Heather knows exactly why she is doing what she is doing. Another great book in the series and another great book by Ms. Killough-Walden.

    Phenomenal

This book was without a doubt, hands down spectacular. Who doesn't love romance, mystery, kick ass characters and sexy men. Once I purchased it, I could not put it down. Each page captivated my attention and drew me in deeper and kept me going to the end. Heather has such a unique writing style that captures her readers on the first page and never wanes. There is no dull part, there is no thoughts of "when will this get back to the plot". Everything ties together beautifully and I for one can not wait until her next book comes out!

The thing about some series is that it tends to get boring after the 3rd or 4th book. With this particular series, the author is a genius. Every one of the books is different and a very enjoyable read. I look forward to the next one in the series.

Wonderful story, pulls you in and doesn't let you go

Loved the new story with the different location of Oxford. Nice twists in the story of changing the threats around much more interesting to still have an unknown evil out there. Now I can't wait till the next book.

As always, Heather Killough-Walden delivers on her stories. It is amazing how an author can introduce new characters and still keep older and current characters from blurring together.
As the series continues, old allies and new allies are brought together in the struggle for peace and the right to live. Some characters even get second chances, to which we will see unfold in the series. The only spoiler I can give is this....no one is safe. But alas, with all magic, nothing is truly what it seems in a writers world. We can only hang on and see where this ride takes us.

Avery is the Seelie King and he has found his queen. But someone

Avery is the Seelie King and he has found his queen. But someone is trying to kill one of them. He's not sure who the target is but he will do anything to protect his queen. When he finds out that she is a Wisher is in awe. Her kind is considered sacred. Until Selene and her sister were found wishers were thought to be extinct.

Selene can't stand humanity. There is always stuff she wishes she could do to change things. Then strange things start happening and then Avery shows up and tells her that she is a wish fairy. She has a lot to learn and is able to make differences in the world for once. When the werewolves are in trouble she has no hesitation about jumping in to help. Even at risk to herself.

And of course there is plenty of appearances from our favorite Werewolves!

My opinion: OMG! I Friggin Loved it! Although I yelled a lot while reading this book. There are few WTH moments! I got the you are a weirdo looks from my husband as I'm yelling "oh no that didn't happen" and "What the heck is Heather thinking?". I have been addicted to this series since the start with The Big Bad Wolf series and all of the characters especially the werewolves are dear to my heart so when certain things were happening I was in freak out mode. You will definitely have to read this book to find out how Amazing it was! It's definitely a book that makes you sit on the edge of your seat in suspense. I highly recommend reading!! I can't wait for the next book!

Heather.....you amaze me with how each story is independent yet woven into another like soft, warm fabric!
I love that each king's independent from the others, yet we get the best of the others without missing our favorites!
The hardest part is waiting for the next book because I tend to read them so quickly! ...onto the next book!?

One thing I like about Heather's books is that she revisits her previous characters. So i always get my fill of my favorite characters and and still enjoy the current story. The seelie king addresses world problems that in my opinion all of us wants to end. All in all a great read, I just wish it was longer.

    Not happy!

I enjoyed this story ....but....it was to short for all that was going on in the book. It seemed rushed and it sent us into to many directions that you got lost at some of the twists and turns. Im just sad the way it was thrown together....:(

    Not so pleased

I wasn't as pleased with this book compared to the others in the series. Less than two hundred pages. Hoping for more with the next one in the series.

    So so...

I generally have enjoyed all of The Kings books up until this one. It starts off decent and then drags. The drag is too long for me. Hopefully the Unseelie King book will be much better. She writes a variety of books at the same time and everyone gets a chance to mess up once. But only once please. I'm not sure how much of her focus was present.

Her books are getting stranger and stranger.....
I do not know what is going on with the author but her books are getting less imaginative, just getting strange. I was put off by her writing "she just wanted to stick his head in her mouth like a lollipop and eat him."; this was about one her characters and her young son..... I have never heard an expression like that before and hope never to again... Then there was the incessant whining about cigarette smoke... not car exhaust or any other air pollutants JUST cigarette smoke.... To say I am disappointed is putting it mildly. I have read many of her books starting with The Chosen Soul in 2011....I do not think I will waste anymore time and money on her work.
