First of a gripping new fantasy series by James Somers. The allegorical fantasy "The Serpent Kings" delivers a riveting story that fans of the genre will treasure long after the final cliff-hanging page is turned. Good vs. evil during the millennial Reign of Peace is the theme, but of a peace that is not all it seems to be. We travel with Gwen, a wraith dancer of the High Guard, the most feared of the elite warriors in the service of the dragon gods. Her mission is delivering justice-without mercy-under the unbending iron rule of Belial, the Dragon King. Wholly and ruthlessly devoted to her god, Gwen protects his temple and palace from the rebels who would dare defy his rule. That is until one day, when her role as the protectionist changes to the aggressor. Gwen is to assassinate the prophet of the god Elithias for treason. What she doesn't know is how this mission will change her fortune and her life. Twists abound in this fast-paced tale of intrigue and treachery, redemption and love. Don't plan on setting it down once you begin. Tapping my impatient fingers; awaiting the release of the sequel "The Wraith Dancers."
