The Seven-and-a-Half Labors of Hercules

The Seven-and-a-Half Labors of Hercules

by John Bendall-Brunello

Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 2-4-- Hercules is alone for the day and has been left a list of seven chores by his parents. Each time he begins a job, he discovers a better way to accomplish it and ends up creating a minor disaster. While it is not conceivable that every ``labor'' would cause such a mess, readers will identify with Hercules and relate his adventures to their various chores. The author's crosshatched drawings complement the text and help to engage readers. The book is funny, moves at just the right pace, and is presented in a format that will enable primary readers to read a junior novel with success, enjoyment, and understanding.-- Sharron McElmeel, Cedar Rapids Community Schools, IA
