Although all the artists included on The Sex, the City, the Music: Berlin aren't German (neither Princess Superstar or Gonzales [aka Jason Beck] are, for example), the album is still a pretty good collection of what's popular in the city. Plus, there is still plenty of stark German electronica to offset the English, or, in the case of Barbara Morgenstern's "The Operator (Piano Version)," a bilingual indie pop gem that just plain works well. Morr Music, probably the most famous German label stateside, doesn't have any representation here, although that isn't really surprising, as it's doubtful Australian label Petrol would provide much incentive to have them include their ...
