Overview

Juliet Rosetti’s steamy Escape Diaries series—perfect for fans of Kristan Higgins and Susan Elizabeth Phillips—continues as Mazie’s on-again, off-again relationship with certified hottie Ben Labeck simmers out of control.

Mazie Maguire doesn’t need some lousy awards panel to tell her what she already knows: Ben Labeck—the chiseled, 6'3" photojournalist and hockey player who drives her wild—is the Sexiest Man Alive. And she especially doesn’t need the rest of the world to know it, too. Watching every last woman in the Milwaukee metro area throw themselves at the man who shares Mazie’s bed is more than any respectable single lady should bear.

So when Ben has the nerve to “forget” to call for a week, Mazie decides to call it off for good. But as she jumps back into the dating game, Mazie catches the attention of some real bad boys: The Skulls. When the motorcycle gang kidnaps Mazie in a case of mistaken identity, she suddenly sees Ben’s behavior in a whole new light. She’d do anything to wake up in Ben’s surprisingly tender arms one more time—so long as the Sexiest Man Alive doesn’t go and get himself killed trying to save her.

This is the fourth in the series but it's a great stand alone in my opinion. I do plan on going back and reading the first three just to get some background. Ben and Mazie have a very interesting relationship that at times makes you want to smack Ben up side his head. There are times when he was just clueless, but when he finally figures it out he figures it out in a big way. This books gives you a romance with a splash of suspense, and some comedy. It was a great quick read

Sexiest Man Alive by Juliet Rosetti
    3 out of 5 Stars

This was a crockpot kind of book, it took a while to warm up but once it did I really enjoyed the last action packed, steamy parts.  When I first started reading I enjoyed Mazie as a character, quirky, my age (30 something), pretty but not perfect, and still questioning herself and her life.  Ben seemed mysterious, sexy, and a little on the wild side.  But as I kept reading I realized I was right about Mazie, she was looking for love, trying to live a good life in a crazy situation (the van!! lol), and overall just a great friend and someone I could really see myself enjoying personally.  Ben, on the other hand, is completely self-centered, superficial, and basically jerk who doesn't deserve someone like Mazie.  Then about half way through the book actually gets good, we meet a real sexy, considerate, good man named Johnny who is working on an investigation and comes to Mazie for help.  While she's with him she remembers who she is, strong, confident, intelligent, and desirable.

As the suspense and drama unfolds, this is when the crockpot starts really getting nice and hot!  Where the story really turned on for me!  We see a side of Mazie that wasn't there in the first half, we get to watch as Ben has to truly look at something besides himself, and we see how the whole cast of characters truly interact and create a true world that works and function in the readers mind.  So for me, the story would have been better without the first portion and just started with the Skulls drama and went from there with the love triangle!!  Although I will say I don't think the best man won.

Another Great Read about Mazie and Ben Juliet Rosetti has done

Another Great Read about Mazie and Ben

Juliet Rosetti has done it again!  The Sexiest Man Alive, the 4th book in The Escape Diaries, is a fantastic book.  Each book in this series keeps getting better and better.  If you have not read any of the books in this series (which I highly recommend you do) you can still read this book and understand everything.  This is a great stand alone novel, even though it is a part of a series.

Mazie Maguire’s life completely changes when her boyfriend, Bonaparte “Ben” Labeck, is named “Sexiest Man Alive” on a popular local tv morning show.  Mazie starts to feel insecure with their relationship when Ben seems taken with all the women that now come up to him and seems to pay no attention to Mazie.  After a particularly bad date she breaks up with Ben.  Mazie then goes on some pretty terrible dates with some very interesting losers.  However, she still finds herself thinking about Ben.  During this time, she gets caught up with a girl trying to stay alive from a murderous gang that is after her.  Will her and Ben get back together?  Will Mazie be able to help the girl and save her live?

I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.  This is a great novel and if you haven’t read anything by Juliet Rosetti, I would highly recommend you try out one of her books.  This is a great stand alone novel, but if you want the full experience, I would recommend starting from the beginning of the series.  This book is amazing for any and all romance readers.

What do you do when you are dating a guy that the city you live

What do you do when you are dating a guy that the city you live in picks him as "The Sexiest Man Alive"? Well Mazie has to decide what to do. She doesn't like the attention he is getting and he seems to only notice her when he wants to. So she will try to move on with her life. Ben hates the title he has been given, it came about when a friend sent in his information. So how does he deal with it? He likes the attention sometimes but it can get out of hand. He doesn't understand what has Mazie so out of sorts. This is a fun and entertaining story with a few twists. Mazie tries a few date related ideas but she can't stop thinking about Ben. With the help of her friends, Juju, Magenta, Eddie, Rico and sexy hometown cop Johnny Hoolihan. This is a first for me from Juliet Rosetti and I loved it. Now I have to read the others in this series. If you like a story with a lot of fun and is entertaining, then this one is for you.

Have I mentioned that I love love love this series?

When her Sexiest Man Alive boyfriend Ben disappears for days, forgets to call, and seems to enjoy a little too much all the women of Milwaukee throwing themselves at him, Mazie's had enough. She may be making minimum wage, living in an efficiency apartment over a drag queen's boutique, and driving around in a moody van covered in vegetables, but she knows she deserves better than what she's getting. So she does what she does best — breaks up with him, goes on the date from hell, and gets kidnapped by a drug running motorcycle gang.

The Verdict: Have I mentioned that I love love love this series? Mazie's life is an adventure in itself, from the grumpy old people throwing food at her to the sketchiest blind date in history to the crazy “passion party” she attends where otherwise sweet almost-menopausal women suddenly become sex-crazed lunatics. But when Mazie stumbles upon a fugitive running from a deadly gang of meth-slinging bikers and winds up locked in the tower of an abandoned insane asylum, all that crazy she's been living pays off. Armed with a can lid, some pantyhose, and an impressive will to survive whatever comes next, we get Mazie at her best and Ben finally coming to his senses.

Ben's hilariously clueless, sweet, and frustrating as usual. He seems to assume a whole hell of a lot, like Mazie must know how he feels even though he's only ever said it once, that everything in their relationship is secure though they barely adhere to labels, and no matter how mad she gets, she'll always come back around. Normally I'd be so frustrated with a character who acted like that, but there's just something about the way Ben's written that cracks me up, even when I want to slap some sense into him.

Of course, he loves Mazie like crazy — which is a good thing, considering that's exactly what life with her is like — and when Mazie lands herself in danger the way only she can, it's Ben to the rescue. With the help of that odd menagerie of friends she's managed to settle with since her escape from prison in the first book, of course.

I'm guessing this is the end of the series, which kind of breaks my heart, but it was a pretty perfect ending. If you haven't read the other books, grab them up now and get started. The Sexiest Man Alive works just fine as a standalone, but the laughs are better if you know the history — and the history is hilarious. In the meantime, I'm going to be impatiently waiting for whatever Juliet Rosetti comes up with next. At this point, I know it's guaranteed to be awesome.

Simply put, The Sexiest Man Alive is an utterly endearing, laugh out loud, sweet romance.

There is no doubt Mazie and Ben have chemistry but when their relationship hits a road bump...Ben being listed as The Sexiest Man Alive...there true feelings will be put to the test.

Mazie is absolutely adorable with her impulsive and spontaneous reactions but keeping herself true. Ben is the uber hottie that doesn't know what hit him.

I completely enjoyed reading The Sexiest Man Alive. Flawed and realistic characters pulled me in and the wonderful writing of Juliet Rosetti kept me there to stay. Not my first read by Rosetti and it will definitely NOT be my last. Just a perfect feel good contemporary romance!

Loved this forth book in the series. Ben and Mazie are two of my favorite h&h. Mazie is funny, loveable and accident prone as always and Ben tries hard to keep up with her. Loved the returning secondary characters. Another viewer said it could be a stand alone book but than put it down because she didn't get the story. It's a series, you should read it from the beginning to understand Mazie and Ben and their relationship. Something tells me this is the last book but I hope not although I can always reread whenever I need a Mazie fix. Plenty of humor, giggles, romance, yes there is some sexual content and a little suspense. This series kept me very entertained and I loved every minute of it. JudyE

This book is funny and sexy from start to finish!

Ben and Mazie have been on again and off again boyfriend/girlfriend for awhile but when he treats her more like a convenience she breaks it off  with him. In between there are bikers, and drag queens and roller derby matches.

Reminds me a lot of Janet Evanovich stories, and those are always good for a laugh. Found me a new author to follow.

Even though this was the fourth book in a series I didn¿t notice

Even though this was the fourth book in a series I didn’t notice it much. It was apparent at times that I was missing back story, but the author did a good job of quickly filling us in each time we needed it. I didn’t think I was missing out on anything by not having read the earlier books.

While I didn’t love the characters in this book (I’ll get to it) I did like that we were able to read some of Ben’s point of view. It helped to explain some of his actions and what he was thinking. It also helped to make him a huge huge huge jackass.

I almost felt bad for Ben at one point because he was just so clueless, but then he started checking out EVERY . SINGLE . WOMAN. One minute Ben’s upset about Mazie dumping him and literally not five minutes later he’s looking at a hot chick and thinking to himself that “the night isn’t a total waste”. He then takes said chick “home” from a party that Mazie was at. I thought these two were an in love couple? Apparently not because Ben can flirt, pick-up, and leave with a new chick from a party that Mazie was at. And he totally would have sealed the deal with her, had he had the opportunity. If you know what I mean.

Yeah, that sounds like a dude who is really in love, right? Why is it acceptable for men to be complete pigs who are ruled by their dicks in some of these romance books? Do all these female romance writers really look that poorly on the female population?

To be quite honest if this hadn’t been an ARC I would have quit reading at 38%. I just didn’t get the book. At 46% I couldn’t figure out why we had now spent half the book with the main couple lusting after other people. I don’t want to read pages of Ben comparing his new love interest and Mazie, especially when the other chick seems to win every time.

Somewhere around 60% it does get better because we finally get the main couple together… kind of, I guess. All of sudden Ben decides he does love Mazie again and even though minutes before he was in a dream relationship with this new girl he’s now ready to marry Mazie. Now mind you, there wasn’t even a revelation of how this other girl wasn’t what he wanted. He never thought about the reasons Mazie was really the one for him, he just proposes marriage. I don’t know maybe he hit head on the way over there and suffered a concussion?? It’s the most logical explanation I have.

Sorry, The Sexiest Man Alive, while written well just didn’t do it for me. I need more romance in my romance books. I can’t believe someone who had read the earlier books, loved them as a couple, and book boyfriend-ed Ben would ever be okay with reading a book where 60% of it he’s chasing after someone else.

Again Juliet Rosetti has given us a hilarious and totally entertaining adventure involving the always adorable Ben and Mazie. As always things aren't going right for Mazie. She's broken things off with Ben, she's gotten fired from her job, and oh yeah, a motorcycle gang has kidnapped her. If you are looking for a good light read this one is perfect! Very entertaining and laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend it.
