Interesting concept and a lovely title but the book is difficult to read. Events are described superfluously (like I really give a damn that there is a Victoria secret magazine on a shelf next to the Peony lotion), while the serious bits are too dramatic for me to feel authenticity. This book was clearly written when the author was too young to describe adult things and I suggest that she go back and redo this book.
It seemed interesting from the synopsis, but it was such a disappointment. Don't even bother.
