Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
★ 09/01/2013
Three of Cape May's top birders (including Richard Crossley and Kevin Karlson), from New Jersey's illustrious colony of naturalists, produced this stunning book on the many families of shorebirds, e.g., plovers, oystercatchers, and sandpipers. The expert text is complemented by 870 excellent color photographs.

    I Also Recommend:

Good book for anyone who bird watches.

This is a very complete book on the subject of North American Shorebirds. The photos are fairly clear. Many of the photos show several shorebirds which should help the reader learn the differences between the birds. Bill shape and length, overall size, color and pattern can be seen.

This book is an absolute must for anyone interested in shorebirds.

This work is an essential guide to anyone wanting to know and identify shorebirds. I was away from birding for almost 25 years and was never proficient at shorebird identification. This book was invaluable.
