Like mother, like daughter? Emma Whitecastle’s daughter Kelly just wants to live a normal life and pursue her studies at Harvard. But that’s not so easy when your mother is a famous medium who hosts a TV show on paranormal activity and when your frequent companion is a ghost named Granny Apples.

When reporter Tanisha Costello approaches her, Kelly is understandably skittish. But Tanisha isn’t after a story—she needs help. She’s being haunted. Though Kelly doesn’t want to acknowledge she has the same gift as her mother, Granny Apples steps in to get her to take the case and get the scoop on the spirit.

    Fun, Fast, Fantastic read--

I normally don't give 5 stars, but this story earned every one of them! Fans of the series will not be disappointed in this one. If you are new to the Granny Apples series, don't let that stop you. It is a stand alone.

Normally we get to read about the adventures Emma Whitecastle has with her dearly departed multi-great grandmother Granny Apples, but in this one, Emma's daughter Kelly takes her first turn at doing what her mother does.

This one is fun, and funny. Granny is just as snarky as ever. I really can't recommend this one enough. Sue Ann Jaffarian is such a great story teller. All her books are gold mines! The one I like best is the one I'm currently reading, so what are you waiting for?? READ THIS...you'll thank me later! :D

I don't think I should have to buy a nook, to be able to read part of this series of books. I love this series Julian, CA from the first book is about 26 miles from my home.(which is why I started reading series) Is it fair that Ican't read this one because it's only in nook.

This is a nice addition to the Granny Apples series, even though it isn't a long text.  If you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy the book.  If you haven't started the series, this is a good (short!) way to start.  Enjoy!  I can't wait to visit with Granny again.

    more from this reviewer

    Lives up to the series

Although a mere 100+ pages long, Sue Ann Jaffarian continues the Granny Apples series with the great short book! I fell in love with Granny in her Gem of a Ghost and love to have additional books to follow. These are mystery books with a light twist in that the "Ghost of "Granny" helps to solve the mystery just as you wuld expect a crotchety old ghost to do.

The Silent Ghost A Ghost of Granny Apples Mystery Novella by Sue

The Silent Ghost A Ghost of Granny Apples Mystery Novella by Sue Ann Jaffarian is another fun read in the Granny Apples Series. I love Granny Apples and this Novella is no exception.

This time Kelly Whitecastle, Emma's daughter, with the help of the ghost of her ancestor Granny has to help a girl, Tanisha, who is being bothered by a ghost. Kelly is off to college and since finding out that Kelly can see and hear ghosts her and Granny Apples spend time together. Granny and Kelly meet up with a Tanisha who is a reporter and at first Kelly thinks she is just trying to snoop into her family. When she asks Kelly for help Granny checks out her story and talks Kelly into helping. Will Kelly and Granny be able to help Tanisha before the ghost in Tanisha's apartment makes Tanisha anymore depressed or emotional?

I like that Kelly can also see and hear ghosts like her mother, even though she is fairly new to this, and it is fun to see how she interacts with Granny and the ghosts. This is a great and different dynamic than Emma and Granny and I like this story as much as the Granny Apples Books. Sue Ann Jaffarian draws you into the story and you feel the emotion and pain that Tanisha and the ghost in her apartment feel. Kelly is strong like her mother Emma in this story and I like that she is. This is a hit and a great addition to the Granny Apples Mysteries.

I would give this 5 stars and though I know it is a Novella between books, I still wanted more when I reached the end. It is a must read if you like ghosts, paranormal and suspense as well as a good mystery. I recommend you read this novella and all of the Granny Apples Mysteries.
