    An Unbelievingly Satisfying Mystery

The Silent Stranger written by Janet Beeler Shaw tells the story of Kaya, an American Girl historical character, also a Nez Perce girl growing up in America in the 1760's. Once again, American Girl succeeds in yet another mystery that will keep you glued to the story for hours and hours until you are done with it. Kaya is growing up as a young, brave Nez Perce girl, when suddenly an injured woman, whom Kaya comes nto know as Hawk Woman comes to stay at the Nez Perce camp. Hawk Woman seems to be in much pain, both inside and out, and after she comes, there are many unexplained happenings. Kaya's dog, Tatlo, seems to know who Hawk Woman is and acknowledges her, which confuses Kaya more than ever. Other strange things start to happen as well, and Kaya is determined to find the truth behind Hawk Woman. What had happened to Hawk Woman? Why was she in so much pain? Why are so many strange and confusing things happenign after Hawk Woman's arrival? Why won't Hawk Woman say anything about her past, or why she seemed to be in pain? This questions will stay in your head as you read the story and wonder what really happened. This mystery will probably be unlike any mystery you have ever read, including other American Girl mysteries. The true story of hawk Woman, and the mystery's end will truly touch your heart when you finish it. Unlike any other mystery i have ever read, Janet beeler shaw beautifully combines mystery, growing up, drama, and family together to make one truly unique mystery. This is, no doubt, one of the best American Girl mysteries I have ever read, and I definiteley think it deserves five stars. This mazy tale will capture your heart. I recommend this book to any girl who's in it foer American Girl, AG's historical character Kaya, stories about trust and family, mystery, and drama. This five-star book just might be the best mystery you ever read!!!!!!!!

    Welcoming Someone New.

Kaya and her people, in this novel titled The Silent Stranger: a Kaya Mystery, are surprised when a stranger comes to their home and stays in their longhouse. The stranger arrives with severely burned hands and this makes the tribe wonder what happened to the stranger before arriving to them. It appears the stranger does not want to join the tribe even though the stranger stays within the tribe's lodging space. Spending much time alone away from the tribe makes people wonder if the stranger is plotting danger. Soon the Spirit Dances will commence, as guests arrive they ask questions about the stranger. Kaya still has not figured out what has happened to the stranger or why the stranger keeps silent and fails to communicate. As the tale unfolds readers will keep reading and be compelled to solve this mystery. This tale will intrigue you and fill you with suspense and wonder. **Great reading! If you enjoy this novel you will probably want to read the Kaya series of six books about Kaya and her family in the American Girl series.
