Overview

In the powerful, lyrical follow-up to THE RUBY KEY, Genna must master her new powers and summon an ancient magic to save her people in the fight for their freedom.

In the battle between nightlings and humans, it's prophesied that the Sunrider is destined to unite the magics of the sun and moon for the good of all. She alone can lead the fight to defeat an immortal evil.

Genna is the chosen Sunrider, and under nightling protection, she must learn the acient magics so she may bring an end to the war between slaves and masters. When she escapes a brutal plot concoted by the evil kai lords, Genna finds herself cast into the depths of the Sun Wizards' world.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Now that Genna is finally learning sun wizard magic, she is bored out of her mind. She and her friend Catri and her brother Dan are still getting used to this new life when an encounter with a dragon takes Catri and Genna to the Spire, a place of evil and legends. While exploring this strange place with a talking cat, they meet a boy and in a moment's passion Catri kisses him, thus, according to custom, betrothing herself to him and disgracing Genna as her guardian. There are larger issues, at stake, though, especially once Genna is reunited with her family, who believed her to be dead. When they are taken to the Spire for their own safely, families are separated and the social structure of Genna's people is turned upside-down. Genna must once again face a dragon and learn more about her own powers to save the people she loves. This second book in the "Moon and Sun" series is a richly woven fantasy with some very memorable characters. While the author could have done a lot more with the social restructuring rather than summarizing it, overall the story was very well conceived and enjoyable. Reviewer: Amie Rose Rotruck

    Love This Book!

I loved this series the books may start out a little slow to some but they quickly pick up. this book starts out close to where the first one ended and this one has action mystery and many other things that were also in the first book so if you loved the first one this one is even better than that one was The ending though left you wonderig what everyone was going to do next so I just can't wait until I here about the next one what the title is gonna be and what its gonna be about i feel like i'm gonna explode if I don't find out soon!
