Scaly skin, family fights...it’s tough being teenage dragon Jennifer Scales.

Jennifer Scales was just starting to get comfy in her own skin—scaly as it is. She should have known, as half weredragon and half beaststalker, that things don’t stay normal for too long—especially when a powerful elder dragon starts stirring up trouble.See more details below

Editorial Reviews

KLIATT - KLIATT Review
Half-dragon, half-beaststalker Jennifer Scales has never shied away from controversy, but when she brings a full beaststalker, a human, and a werachnid named Skip to Crescent Valley--the secret grounds of the weredragons--she's pretty sure she's finally put her foot (claw?) into it. Old feuds run deep between the species, especially for elders such as Xavier Longtail, and many view her peacemaking attempts as treason. Little does she know, they're right. After unwittingly donning a protective charm from Skip, Jennifer wakes one morning to an alternate universe in which werachnids reign supreme and only she and Skip remember the "before" world. Gone are her parents, her home, and all the weredragons except for Xavier. Now, she must find a way to right the universe . . . and to realize that love does not always outweigh betrayal. The Silver Moon Elm involves the reader in a plot that is as complex and far-reaching as any adult-level fantasy novel, yet is so well planned that it never once strains credibility. Davidson and Alongi seamlessly blend teenage spats with dragons' dens for a novel that retains the vitality of its youthful characters without itself seeming "young." Readers of all ages will appreciate the inventiveness of this exceptional tale. Age Range: Ages 12 to adult. REVIEWER: Cara Chancellor (Vol. 42, No. 1)
