In 1947 Patti Page became the first pop vocalist to overdub her own harmonies behind her lead vocal for the hit "Confess," and by that trick alone she has to be considered one of the most innovative singers of the 20th century. There's a lot of Page here, which will be great for ardent fans, but those feeling more casual about it may want to consider a single-disc set drawn from the same era.
