"In Dutch, it's 'slee.' In Spanish, it's 'trineo.' In Italian, it's 'slitta." In English, it's 'sled.' And you can learn pretty much all there is to know about them in The Sled Book…This book offers just what you need before-and after-you go slidin' away."
Cambridge NY Eagle Newspaper
"Taps into the emotional pull of remembered trudges up and exhilarating rides down, complete with screams of delight and wet mittens. A nostalgic look at the Everyman's outdoor sporting fun-sledding."
Daily Sentinel
"A marvelous little book/memoir."
(Newark NJ) Sunday Star Ledger
"The Sled Book, a diminutive new volume from Seattle-based Skipstone Press, celebrates what it rightly deems 'winter's favorite pastime.'"
The Washington Post - Christopher Schoppa
"The Sled Book by Brice Hoskin is certainly the most charming [winter book]…with a vintage look."
Virtuoso Life
"This little book would make a fine holiday present for anyone who has known the thrill of flying face-first down a slippery slope."

Meet the Author

A former journalist and editor, BRICE HOSKIN combined his lifelong love of sledding and business acumen to found Mountain Boy Sledworks, a company devoted to the creation of hand-crafted sleds that are not only functional, but so much fun to use that they make grown-ups feel like children. The company is located in Silverton, Colorado; at 9318 feet in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, Silverton receives 150 inches of snow a year on average, making it a sledding haven-and the perfect testing grounds for Mountain Boy sleds. Throughout the winter, local families can be seen using Hoskin's sleds to take their children to school, get groceries, and race down the nearby ski hill.
