I am married, have an amazing toddler and a baby girl. I have been writing for many years (professionally and non-professionally) and enjoy the research and learning process required. During my PDC studies and training I leaned extensively about baby and child emotional development and how experiences from birth to adulthood influence the development of the personality. I live in north California where I enjoy nature, hiking, as well as reading books and spending quality time with family and friends.
During our sons first year I encountered many sleeping difficulties where I didnt get to enjoy doing the things that I love. This led me to speak with other parents and learn from them about what they went through, as well as sought professional advice that would hopefully be helpful. One of the main things I learned was that many parents who want to teach their baby good and healthy sleeping habits unknowingly form dependency habits that require the parents presence when baby goes to sleep or needs to get back to sleep when she wakes up before it is time.
Helping my baby each time fall asleep; getting up numerous times during the night to help him get back to sleep ; nursing full-time and trying to work from home, was getting to be very difficult. I realized that both my baby and me are ready to learn how to get our sleep situation on better terms.
I did a lot of learning, reading and extensive research on baby sleep. This helped me understand my sons sleeping circumstance (according to his age) in order to deal with it in an emotionally healthy manner (with no cry-it-out method or feeding deprivation). Knowing parents do not have much time on their hands, I decided to share this important information every parent should know about sleep. I also share an easy and considerably quick sleeping method, with examples and tools, to help parents get their baby to fall asleep on her own and stay asleep throughout the night.
