This book explains the importance of detox smoothies, consisting of enzymes and antioxidants—which can cleanse your body from toxins and can foster energy and advance your digestive health. This text is an interesting read—since it explicates the disparate categories of smoothies, consisting of a variety of minerals and vitamins, which are imperative for weight loss and indispensable for good health.     This book has shown me that every smoothie can be delicious and purposeful. I had no idea that smoothies could be a meal supplement, antioxidant, source of energy and likeable by my children. My kids are fans of most of these smoothies which is a great way for them to get nutrients on the go. Did I mention that I have lose a few pounds following the antioxidant recipes? I love this recipe book and make a new one every day.

The recipes are organized into helpful categories, such as low-fat, protein, antioxidant, weight loss, and high-energy. Exact measurements are provided for all ingredients, but the recipes can be modified to suit personal taste. Overall, I would recommend this recipe book to anyone who enjoys smoothies and is looking to boost health by incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their diet.

    Would you be interested in a weight-loss plan that can be a meal replacement, a detox program, and 75 recipes in a simple “how to book”? This book is fantastic for showing that we need GOOD carbohydrates in order to lose weight, and even includes 10 easy,motivational tips for making a great smoothie. It explains how to lose weight using the body’s 3 main needs: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. It also features canned recipes, along with fresh ones. If you want a healthy, delicious weight-loss plan, read this book.

    I just bought this book and read it and I found it amazing. After reading it, I believe buying different harmful supplements to lose weight, this book would be better. It provides numerous recipes with great 3 days Detox plan and 10 days meal plan. I will be trying different recipes from this book very soon. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to lose weight. Simply Amazing!

    Growing up and dieting in the 80’s, the big fad was liquid drinks and mixes. They had a gross chalky after taste that came in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. I knew very few people, including myself that could maintain drinking those concoctions for more than a week or two. But with The Smoothie Recipe Book for Weight Loss staggering 72 recipes, boredom will not be on the menu. Whether you’re looking to detox loss weight or just increase your protein, Mendocino Press has published another great title.

    I love smoothies, but was always guessing on how to incorporate them into my diet. No more guessing. This book outlines the benefits and gives step by step instructions and recipes. From the “Three-Day Smoothie Detox” to the “Ten-Day Smoothie Meal Plan,” there is plenty of help to get started. The numerous recipes will definitely keep me going with plenty of variety.

    Love this smoothie recipe book! Not to heavy on the ‘why’s’ and ‘what’s’ as far as going for a smoothie instead of a meal, but it convinces you just fine when you see the delicious and titillating recipe combinations they’ve put together. Also, none of them are too complicated or have more than five or so ingredients. The Detox Diet is very useful for a default detox 3-day cleanse. Take note too of the helpful Organic list in the appendix- it tells you which fruits and vegetables are a MUST to get organic. Don’t forget to freeze the bananas!

    Great smoothie recipes!   The Smoothie Recipe Book for Weight Loss also gives clear guidance about carbs, proteins, vitamins and minerals, with basic explanations of how food works in easy-to-understand language.  You won’t find calorie counts—the emphasis is on eating healthy, not calorie counting.  The recipes are fun -- check out the New Zealand smoothie with kiwis --  but this is worth reading for the nutrition information alone.

    I think the misconception of smoothies that involve vegetables is that they are disgusting. This book completely opened my eyes to smoothies and great taste. I typically am a Jamba Juice lover. However, Jamba Juice tends to have more calories and sugar and I think this book shows a great balance between fruits,vegetables and fibers. It allows those not as educated on smoothie diets to feel as though they know enough to make a lifestyle change. Great book!

It helps to have days and weeks planned out.  This is a quick reference guide for when I’m actually shopping for ingredients.  I like the healthy suggestions, because one can think they’re making a healthy smoothie when in fact it’s very high in fat.
