All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
There's little question that this double-disc, 32-track collection is too much for most fans -- whether they're fans of Robinson's solo efforts, or Miracles fans looking to find a one-stop collection of his very best solo hits. Nevertheless, this could hardly be called anything but thorough, since it chronicles not only all of his crossover hits, but also urban soul hits, radio favorites, and album cuts. As such, it can be a bit much, particularly because only "Quiet Storm," "Being With You," "Cruisin," and maybe "Ebony Eyes" could be conceivably ranked among his best work, but this is certainly the most thorough and best overview of Smokey's solo recordings. ...

Good compilation of songs - Pure Smokey!

Good selections. This collection helps to replace some of my favorites. I lost a large number of Smokey LP's/vinyl in Katrina. Thanks B&N for making these items available for purchase.

    When Smokey Sings

If you haven't become a Smokey fan yet, this is a good place to educate yourself. If you are a fan of some form of great and lasting film or art this is no different. Smokey Robinson seemingly makes love to a song. The passion and the poetry of Smokey is unmatched. And the voice is so yearning, painful, smooth, loving, and sensual that no one can reach the levels of emotion that Smokey does. Study Smokey and find YOUR passion and soul.
