    Awesome

It is really nice to read a book that jumps into a genre and breath new life into it. The main character is a mature 40year old woman who is strong and a nice change of pace. The book is well written and there is a grat flow to the events of the book.

Excellent Fantasy with a Touch of Romance. After reading "Tyrant Moon" I decided to try one of Corvidae's other books, and I am glad that I picked up "The Sorceress's Orc." Vervain is an appealing character, and a highly unusual one for the genre: she is a mature and successful woman, not a buxom warrior queen. Riyu is wonderful, too; the orcs here are not savage barbarians, but proud and honorable warriors with a rich tradition of song and poetry.

Lots of action, a great sequence with a flying ship, and narrow escapes, plus an unexpected romance. Definitely recommended to fans of Mercedes Lackey and Devon Monk. -- lyradora
