Oh my god, I'm OBSESSED with this book! My favorite genre is that supernatural/romance genre, so this was right up my alley. You can't help but get caught up in the magic, romance, and intensity of this world. This book was so unique and romantic. I assumed with a title like "Soul Mate" that the plot wouldn't really be that deep or interesting, but I was completely wrong. And so glad for it! I'm in love with all of these characters and can't wait to pick up the next in the series!

I thought that this was a very well written, staged plot. I liked the ending as it showed where it began without giving out any spoilers. I did find that the characters seemed to rapidly evolve about mid way through as the plot became fast paced and the story grew intense. Overall, I hope there is more to this story line and these characters.

I really enjoy Madeline Sheehan's "Duece" books and so I thought I would try some of her "magical supernatural" books. WOW - I could NOT put the book down-I was amazed to find myself caught up in this strange world of Gypsy's just trying to survive after the BREAKOUT of something very terrible. Trinity(love the name) is so confused about what is going on around her and inside of her that she begins to just DEAL and make the most of her surroundings and starts learning to take care of herself! Xan & Gerik are such opposite characters but VERY Likeable Men...and I was there with Trinity feeling what she felt and having a hard time dealing on the decisions she was having to make and struggling with how she felt inside - I LOVED this story - it had such a GREAT mix of EVERYTHING I love from Vamp like Zombies, to LOVE, to Struggle and Heartache,& Magic to even a very surprising ending.... LOVED IT - LOVED IT!!!! Thank you Madeline!!!

After I read Madeline's novel Undeniable, I wanted to read whatever else she had written but unfortunately it took me forever to get around to it. BUT OMG!! now I wanna kick myself in the A%% for waiting so long. This is a paranormal book that had me hooked from the very beginning. We meet Trinty who is living at a Gypsy camp. Normally they wouldn't let her in, but seeing as how everyone believes the apocalypse is upon them, they let her stay. She has an intense connection with a Gypsy named Gerik but they have a strange relationship. She feels like an outcast because she isn't allowed to be told about their magic but she feels some sort of magical pull to Gerik and she doesn't know why. When Gerik tries to explain that they are Soul mates she doesn't take it to well to say the least. She believes that is the only reason he is interested in her at all. She also wonders that if that were true why would he still be seeing another girl. She decides to walk away from him and turns to Xan to teach her self defense so she will be able to defend against any attackers. They attempt to kiss several times, but she believes Gerik has cursed her because it physically hurts her. As they spend more time together they fall in love & marry but when there is an attack on camp & Gerik is forced to do something drastic to save Trinity he is forced to leave camp & "kidnaps" her. Xan is out on a hunt & doesn't know what is going on. This book had me hooked and when it ended I was so happy to find out that book two was already out. I love the story & recommend it to anyone who will listen.

I have to admit The first two chapters when I started to read this were a little hard for me to get into, there was some type of malfunction and little rectangles were showing up all over the place. That being said once I got over that, I was hooked. This is a story that is post apocalyptic It has a clan of gypsies and even a dragon. Sounds a little out there right? It doesn’t matter that it sounds out there. Madeline Sheehan is brilliant. She creates such vivid realistic characters. She had me eating out of the palm of her hand, singing her praises at how much she makes me fall in love with her writing. At the end of the first book, I was so grateful the second was already out. I finished the first and had so many questions in my mind. Would we see more Gerik? How will their soul mate connection come out to play? How do I feel about Xan? The second book delivers. God I felt for Xan. I understood Gerik more. Trinity becomes pretty badass. This is one of those stories that there really is not anything like it. Its unique. There is however a great amount of love. There are sexy as hell scenes. I love that Madeline Sheehan makes her male characters super manly. They are not the sensitive type. That to me is a little more real. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this trilogy. Its one of this that I will probably stalk and purchase the day it comes out.

My interpretations with spoilers. I have nothing against Xan, but Gerik is the [..]. Obviously both Gerik and Xan are hot as [..] and totally amazing. Both are wonderful. But Gerik is made for her and magic. Any male lead in any book can connect the way that Xan can with her, but what makes this so special is how Gerik can connect with her. I think that everyone is just giving him too bad of a rep for what he is going through. Emilian was helped through everything by his people. Gerik was orphaned and the leaders didn't help him make the connection with Trinity. So he was left hanging with his full-fledged feelings for her all his life without the actual connection. He obviously loved her very much or he would have just raped her to make the connection instead of waiting for her. He never forced her into anything. By the time Trieme was 22 and Emilian was 29, the same ages as Trinity and Gerik currently, they were married and she was pregnant. I think, in the whole cosmos connection of everything, that is the stage that Trinity and Gerik are suppose to be in now so as his biological magical manly clock is freaking the [...] out and needing to make that happen. So instead of just forcing Trinity to make it happen, he is trying to get rid of some of that pressure with Onyx. He does not enjoy it. It says in the book he shut his eyes and pretended it wasn't her, and that after it didn't feel better. Also, I don't think it's just him [...] around or can it be compared to a regular guy because he wants Trinity so bad just wanting to touch her and not allowing himself causes a hurricane. He's just trying to give her time to accept him. He has loved her his whole life, but has just been waiting for her the same as Emilian with Trieme except he didn't get to connect with her at her birth. I think since they are parts of the same soul, they will have to be together because their whole soul being torn apart is what caused this apocalypse to being with. So I'd have to say it's threesome or Gerik, end of. I also want to talk about all the Greek Gods and stories. The first mermaid story has some similarities to the first Vampire/Zombie/Whatever those scary [...] are. The Soul Mate really has a Hades & Persephone feel to it. This is a something I found on the Internet about P "queen of the underworld. Homer describes her as the formidable, venerable majestic queen of the underworld, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. Persephone was abducted by Hades, the god-king of the underworld. The myth of her abduction represents her function as the personification of vegetation which shoots forth in spring and withdraws into the earth after harvest; hence she is also associated with spring and with the seeds of the fruits of the fields." Is there a P and Trin connection? The most important Greek myth I wanted to discuss was the Fates, the 3 sisters. Somehow I know this has got to be important. This is something I found on the Internet about them "The Fates have the subtle but awesome power of deciding a man's destiny. They assign a man to good or evil. Their most obvious choice is choosing how long a man lives. There are three Fates. Clotho, the spinner, who spins the thread of life. Lachesis, the measurer, who choses the lot in life one will have and measures off how long it is to be. Atropos, she who cannot be turned, who at death with her shears cuts the thread of life. The Fates are old and predate the gods. It is not entir

Actually 2.5 to 3 Stars on this one and maybe it's because having read the Undeniable Series first, this pales in comparison. It could be these were her first books? I could not connect with the two main characters. I did a bit with the third, Xan. I found them bland, flat, I don't know what words to use. The book dragged on and I kept waiting for it to pick up the pace but it didn't until Chapter 28. I really have no interest in reading the other two books but I want to support this author, so I'll purchase them. She writes incredibly well and has me hooked on the Undeniable Series.

I'm a big paranormal fan so why I hadn't read The Soul Mate before I did is beyond me!!! I LOVE this series. TSM introduced us to some fantastic characters, an interesting new world and gave us so much to think about. Love Trinity - though I wished she would stand up and be counted a bit more. Gerik drove me daft with his 'thing' with Onyx. Can honestly say I'm Team Xan....even as cocky as he is!!! Madeline left us with a cliff-hanger and I couldn't wait to start My Soul To Take!!! Definitely a recommended read and a solid 5* book!!!! <3
