Overview

Once again, it's the instantly memorable, upbeat, radio-ready material that places Mary Mary at the forefront of contemporary gospel. When The Sound was released, the energizing "Get Up" was threatening to make as much of a crossover splash as 2000s "Shackles (Praise You)," and like four other songs front-loaded on Erica and Tina's fifth album -- including the triumphant David Banner feature "Superfriend," the booming/bumping "God in Me," and the rambunctious '60s throwback title track ("Is it all right if I moan?!/Mmmmoooaaannn-nuh!") -- there's more walloping vigor than what can be found in nearly any given modern, platinum-seeking R&B album. The disc's latter half is relatively indistinct, but it could never be said that the duo is going through the motions. The same goes for Erica's husband, undervalued veteran producer/songwriter Warryn Campbell.

I appreciate the CD but the case was in terrible condition to the point where I had to throw it away. I like to keep the cases with my CDs. Will not buy from this seller in the future.

Great because I can enjoy it and my preteen can't get enough of it. When I play this cd, my kids don't moan "Another Gospel CD". We all truly enjoy it.

It is great to listen to more potential hits from Tina & Erika. I seen them at the Crest Theatre; they are incredibly great. My daughter studied music & sensitive to notes. She enjoyed them equally as they sang their new hits. If you didn't go, you missed out.

I bought this CD because I have so enjoyed the song "God in Me" which is featured on it. This song touches my heart both emotionally and spiritually. It is musically interesting and it shows off the vocal talents of the two sisters. As gospel music, it has the value of being particularly attractive to young people. However, I'm not young, and I must say I like it very much too. I enjoy it despite the fact that as a Christian, I do note that Christ is never mentioned in the song. This fact may be disturbing to some individuals. Although the other songs on this CD are fair to good, I do not feel they have the hit potential of "God in Me". In addition, all of the songs are interspersed with "radio" sounds, by way of being original. Unfortunately, this production gaffe is very distracting and detracts from the music. Having purchased and listened to the CD a few times, I conclude that I would have done better instead to buy the one song I like so much.
