Humorous Novel
I picked up the book because it had a colorful cover, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the book itself was full of color. The setting, though unspecified (somewhere in post-communist Eastern Europe), is just as much of a character as the people. In fact, the descriptions of this world unknown to those who do not live in it, is exactly what kept me turning the pages and justified the characters.
The main character is a gigolo type by the name of Leborio Borzelini, whose sense of self-entitlement is the driving force of the book. He dreams of becoming rich and famous and will stop at nothing to get there. The plot thickens once he receives an invitation to travel to Portugal and meet his destiny. Surrounded by other hilarious characters, with equally hilarious names, Leborio finds that fate had more in store for him than he expected.
I warmly recommend this book especially for those who like a good laugh and a bit of adventure. It will transport you to a different place and it will give you a few good chuckles.
