The spiderwick chronicles has 3 main characters. First, theres Jared, a small boy who always gets into trouble. Next, theres Simon, Jared's twin brother who is really smart and loves animals. Finally, theres Mallory, Simon and Jared's older sister who likes to fence, and finds her brothers really annoying.
The main plot of this story involves magical creatures seeking out the feild guide. The feild guid is a book that has information about the magical world around them. Also, they have to figure out about different creatures and what they do.
Time and place is not spacific in this book, but I'm pretty certain that it is set in the present. The days pass as the days go by, so there is no certain either.
Three children have gone to many places and have met a numerous amount of creatures. Also, some of them were cruel to them. The theme of this story is magical and adventurous. It also has many cliff hangers.
I loved this story and I would reccomend this book to anybody who likes fantasy. It was so exiting, I read it from start to finish. I think anybody who starts reading this will not be able to put it down.
Connecting to this book was really easy. I have read many other books that contain magical things and creatures, because I find them really interesting. Also, puzzles and quizes arefun for me too.

    CHARMING TALES

I loved reading these with my son. They are delightful and innocent. The illustrations are wonderful. When we saw the film we felt rather let down though - it was boring and lack lustre - it didn't do any justice to the actual books themselves.

Black & DiTerlizzi Open a Whole New World to Young Readers

"Beautiful books. Before I go any further I need to talk about the illustrations and the books themselves. I'm a sucker for a gorgeous book with deckle edge and amazing illustrations which this set of books has in spades. Each book has an illustrated cover that carries on throughout the entirety of the story. As I turned the pages I found myself wanting to find another piece of art to admire and enhance my reading; I wasn't disappointed. Toni DiTerlizzi did an amazing job with these books, as he does with all of his books, and brings to life something you would normally only be able to dream about. For me personally I think it's something appealing to both boys and girls, beautiful, but definitely gruesome enough for the toughest boy.

"Being as I'm a huge fan of anything by Holly Black I read these with great anticipation. In fact I read the entire series in a matter of hours. Black's imagination coupled with the imagery of DiTerlizzi was astounding. Most of the time I think I read these types of books because as a child I was wholly too serious and as an adult I need a reprieve. It's just hard for me to believe any individual could come up with a story full of imaginary characters and things/places that you had never heard of. But Black does it with such ease that I'm sure she's lived there her entire life.

"As for the story of the three Grace children...normal, typical every day kids doing what more than half of America's children do, cope with divorced parents and moving on with life. Only to have their world flipped upside down, but not by their parents, but a fantastical world they never knew existed until moving to their Aunt Lucinda's home. Jared stumbles upon a secret room filled with treasures from his great grandfather's past as well as a field guide that changes their view of the world forever.

"I will warn, some of the situations and images in these books are a bit graphic. Depending on how sensitive your child is you may want to wait until they are a bit older to have them read them or they may end up with a few bad dreams. With that one exception I will say these are wonderful books, one's that I will definitely be sharing with my own kiddos when they are a bit older."

This series is a great starter for readers not familiar with series. Its short and very pulling. the characters are each unique and all have their own special role. The creatures in it are awesome and exhilarating, its fun to look forward to what monster you will see next. The story never drags on and the series leave you wanting more.the re-reading value is great and this series is perfect for children to keep is their library.

The first thing I senced in this book was fantastical creatures and lots more. Two twins Jared and Simon Grace, and their sister Mallory discovers fearies, fantastical fearies. You'll have to read this book, to see where the adventure starts and ends. This is a thrilling adventure!

CREATE A WORLD OF YOUR OWN!

Do you not understand the greatness of these books. The combination of fantasy and reality is amazing. I was reading these books to my neices and every night. They couldn't wait until bedtime to hear the rest of the Grace's story. The action and adventure. The fantasy of the story is song that draws prey to the animal for it to feed upon. I want others to read this story and think that anything like this can happen to them. If they just believe that it's happening. Just believe that everything in the world is in place around you and make the creatures appear with your mind. Then fight them and have your own adventures.

    Good, fast read

These books are enjoyable. They are a quick and exciting read. I have heard them being compared to Harry Potter and they are NO WHERE near that realm. They are written on a much younger scale. I suggest reading the Peter and the Starcatcher series as well as the Fablehaven series for a fun and magical reading experience!
