Overview

Tis the season to be jolly, but Jasmine Quinn is far from happy about her mother's latest folly: her upcoming wedding to former Wall Street financier, Sam Sterling. Sam's assistant, Brandon Ablemarle, is also finding it hard to get into the holiday spirit, thanks in part to the fiery redhead with some of the goofiest ideas he's ever heard of. What else can you expect from the daughter of a self-proclaimed psychic? Marsha Quinn has a lot to answer for. Not only has she encouraged her daughter's esoteric craziness, she's also turned one of the most brilliant stock analysts Wall Street had ever seen into a nutcase as well.

Editorial Reviews

It is book six of a series, but you do not need to read the previous books to fully understand what is going on in THIS one. Each novel is a story in and by itself. Even though Marsha is psychic, do not go assuming (like I did) that this is a supernatural romance. No, this story is more than that. In fact, Marsha's psychic ability is a very minor part of the story. Ana/Celeste comes forth to let Marsha know that she will be visited by three spirits...

What a tangled web we weave, but this is intrigue at its best. Complex and romantic in all the right proportions, The Spirit of the Place keeps the readers interest for sure. Set in the vague style of 'Scrooge' by Charles Dickens, its festive feel and portrayal of the complexity of human relationships is magic in itself. The four main protagonists have a strong network of supporting characters to make this novel a gem for Xmas, especially.

Meet the Author

PG Forte was born on the wrong coast; a mistake she corrected as soon as she was able. And one she avoided making with her children, both of whom were born in Santa Monica, California within sight (on a clear day, and at a height of several stories) of the Pacific Ocean.

She has spent most of the last seventeen years living in various locations throughout The Golden State—North, South and even, as King Arthur might have phrased it ‘for one brief shining moment’ in that Camelot of California, The Central Coast.

The idea for the series came to her, appropriately enough, while she was enjoying a latte at an outdoor café in the company of friends. In many ways, Oberon is a celebration of everything weird, wacky and wonderful about her adopted home state.

Besides books on Oberon, Ms. Forte has also written several documentary film scripts, and a children’s book on safety.
