Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jennifer Waldrop
The Spooky Wheels on the Bus is a Halloween version of the traditional children's song "The Wheels on the Bus." In this fun update, passengers on the bus include noisy cats, big spiders, singing mummies, silly monsters, wacky witches, and goofy ghosts. The lyrical narrative is fun and sure to make this a holiday favorite, but the illustrations are the real star of the book. Mantle brings these Halloween staples to life with bright, zany colors and friendly faces, making them entertaining for children without being scary. Even the five big spiders, which are indeed large, are nonthreatening with their peaceful smiles and creative webs. It is enough to make any child wish that their school bus had spooky wheels, too. My granddaughter, who is 2 years old, absolutely loves all the you tube videos of wheels on the bus, so when I saw this book, I got it for her for Halloween, and she loves it! It is fun to read, great pictures, and we have really enjoyed it.

I have a two year old and she loves this book. Its a cute twist on an old classic children's song. I love the creative lyrics and my daughter likes hearing it again and again. I would definitely get this book for any toddler or preschooler.
