Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Pickle Jar Jar, Darth Double Dogs and Qui-Gon Jinn-ger Snaps are among the 29 recipes in The Star Wars Cookbook II: Darth Malt and More Galactic Recipes by Frankie Frankeny and Wesley Martin, photos by Frankeny. The fantastically styled dishes, many imaginatively presented with action figures, may be enough to lure Star Wars fans to the kitchens. For convenience, the pages lay flat in a concealed Wire-o binding and, for a fun extra, a Darth Maul template is included for help garnishing a dip or a cake.
School Library Journal
Gr 3-5-This delightful sequel offers 29 recipes in five categories: breakfasts, snacks/sides, main courses, desserts/treats, and drinks. What better way to get kids to eat broccoli than to have them make "Boss Nass Broccoli?" The introduction provides basic safety tips and a list of tools needed. Most of the creatively named recipes, such as "Handmaiden Hash Browns," "Sith Speeder Sunrise," and "Amidala Challah," are simple to make and require few ingredients. However, the authors warn readers about those that take hours to prepare. The step-by-step directions are easy to read and follow. The highlight of the book is the glossy colorful photos of action figures in scenes with the prepared food. The pictures truly inspire readers to try the recipes. The pages are sturdy and shiny and easy to wipe clean. The spiral binding enables the book to stay open while cooking. It even includes a plastic stencil to decorate one of the dishes.-Sandra L. more from this reviewer

Place this book face forward and you will sell tens of thousands

My 9 year old son, as well as all my 50ish friends, love this cookbook. Our favorite is the Darth Double Dogs--of course we have to play with our food! Everything we have tried is kid-friendly and fun. The photos are outstanding!

    Great Sequel

This is a great follow up to Wookie Cookies. I enjoy cooking, and adding a Star Wars twist is fun and interesting. I can't wait to see more!!
