These are no ordinary princesses . . . they're Rescue Princesses!
Princesses to the rescue! Another animal is in trouble and the Rescue Princesses must save the day.
Princess Jaminta lives in the beautiful Kingdom of Onica. She and her fellow princesses have discovered that someone is out to steal one of the kingdom's greatest treasures, and might harm a baby panda in the process. The Rescue Princesses must leap into action!
Princess Jamintha is thrilled to host three princess friends during the celebration for her grandfather's nineteenth birthday party. She can hardly wait to show Emily, Lulu, and Clarabel the panda cub she found on Cloud Mountain. The only thing tempering her exuberance is that she does not have a birthday present for Grandfather. Well, she did, but it broke. In her attempts to find a new gift she has the companionship of her friends, and unbeknownst to her, the makings of a mystery soon to be un-raveled. Apparently, the beloved Onica Heart crystals were stolen ten years prior, and the kingdom has never been the same. The four princesses overhear a guest admitting he stole the crystals and is at the celebration with the sole intent of retrieving the crystals. Events go as expected in mysteries for this age group: the panda cub is used as a pawn, the bad guys seem to have the upper hand, but in the end, good triumphs and all is right with the world. If readers enjoy other books in "The Rescue Princesses" series, they will no doubt enjoy this. Elementary age girls will be drawn to this work, relating well to the bond of friendship among the very different princesses, and the love of a cute, furry small mammal. A book (and series) written purely for the enjoyment of reading, a nice reminder to be kind to everyone and that good always wins over evil. At least in the juvenile literary world.
