Meet the Author

Daniil Kharms was born in 1906. Kharms was arrested in 1931 for 'deflecting the people from the building of socialism by means of "trans-verse" verses' and told that he could only publish writing for children. By the end of the decade, even his writing for children was considered unfit for publication and in 1941 Kharms was re-arrested and

VLADIMIR RADUNSKY has illustrated many books for children, including "Bling Blang," "Howdi Do," and "My Dolly, "all by Woody Guthrie, and his own "Manneken Pis: A Simple Story of a Boy Who Peed on a War. "He lives in Italy.

Vladimir Radunsky has illustrated many wonderful books, including "The Maestro Plays" by Bill Martin Jr and Woody Guthrie's "Howdi Do." He is also the author-illustrator of "10" (ten) and (with Chris Raschka) of "Table Manners."

The children whose quotes appear in this book all attend The Ambrit International School in Rome. This is their first book.
