this book was once a world wide best seller about a doctor who treated the poor in times of some of the most harrowing epidemics of the last century, in Italy, and France and Sweden, and his building of a villa in Capri, in southern Italy. It is full of wisdom, fables and medical history. Very uplifting, his villa is still one of the main tourist attractions on the isle of Capri. I strongly recommend it for italophiles; it also seems to anticipate some of the wisdom of "new age" but in a much more sincere way.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
