The String Quartet Tribute to Coldplay [Vitamin]

All Music Guide - Johnny Loftus
The String Quartet Tribute to Coldplay applies violin, viola, cello, and bass to instrumental versions of the band's most memorable moments. While the original song's gorgeous, gradually unfolding melody is present and accounted for, the performers here have added a new, even more plaintive layer to the verses, giving their rendition a stately air. It's like the theme music to that scene in every Ivy League college drama, when the camera swoops over the quad and through the autumnal leaves to find its hero rushing to class in a scarf and corduroy jacket.

    Excellent for any Coldplay fan...

If you like Coldplay you will appreciate this CD...you will hear the reason Coldplay has so many great songs. Even if you don't know who Coldplay is...the music is beautiful for anyone who love the sounds of classical music.

    wow!

i'm not generally a big fan of classical music, but this is really beautiful. without the lyrics, i'm able to focus more on the melodies, which are gorgeous. the pieces have been arranged excellently and lend a whole new meaning to coldplay's breathtaking music!
